completed For Sale: 1989 3 coin gold 500th Anniversary set £1,890

Recommended Posts

  • Hi, I have a 1989 3 coin gold 500th Anniversary set for sale that is in good condition and is currently with my friend in the UK (I am based in Japan). It comes with box and Coa. Asking price is £1,890 but would be interested in swapping with a £5 gold or any George III silver crowns or half crowns. Payment by PP or bank transfer and postage is included. The set was bought in japan and when it arrived in came in original Japanese Newspaper packing dated 1989 so the original owner probably had it since then.

As a new member with zero trading feedback you would be expected to post the item first before receiving payment...

the same would apply to the George III half and full crowns...

and it would be nice to have pictures of the coins in the capsules, not the wrapping around them.

Yes for a high ticket item like this and i presume being sold outside the UK, either a good record on the forum or sending the item to be checked before payment is necessary. Selling to an established member of the forum is not a risk. i expect over the years £million's of gold and silver have been bought and sold here and problems are very rare indeed.

I have had a look at the set. Just as an info: Arshimo is holding and shipping the coins on Marc's behalf.

Coins are stained from 30 years of age but otherwise in great condition. NCS treatment is recommended and there is a good chance that the entire set will score above 68, the double sovereign even 70.

This is a great price with resale value of graded full and double sovereign above the value of the set!!! So you get in essence the half sovereign for free.
