What would you buy

I've been looking at buying a gold coin with a 2005 vintage. I've seen a proof 2005 krug with box and coa or a proof $10 eagle in capsule only, both around £320 and 1/4 oz.The krug will have a much lower mintage but am not looking to sell in the short term. Would also consider either a libertad or panda in that year but havn't found anything yet. Any suggestions as to whether it's a good deal on the above 2 or just bide my time.

As it's going to be long term will go for stabbed. Protection from grubby little fingers and the suchlike , not my fingers by the way. If I did buy raw, I would more than likely send it off to be stabbed.

Unless you can buy a slabbed from a trusted source then buy a raw one from a trusted source and send it off, I have seen quite a few fake slabs kicking around lately, looks like they are faking those now too, and it means you cannot check the coin is real either if it is sealed up.

Also means you can spread the cost of the purchase and maybe send several items at once to be slabbed to save a bit on postage at a later date.

Thanks, I've just sent a proof off for grading. Just to add to my indecision I'm now mulling over this, leaving my 2005 collection aside for a couple of months.

Any thoughts or experience???. It looks in pretty good condition to me.

Also around £300 and about 1/4 oz

The lib is the best looking for me think I would go the eagle out of the 2 just on looks.

This is my thinking, too.

What about a Britannia - 2005 is one of the special design years.

But this is a good point. I do really like that year's design:

I do like the Britannia coins, but why does she wear a welding mask on her head.

Be a trend-setter, not a trend-follower. Pretty soon all the feminine images will be seen wearing them.
