Good investment or not?

Some advice required please.

Is the 2017 Royal Mint 200th Anniversary Gold Proof Half Sovereign a good investment or not.  It’s boxed with COA.  I have been offered it for £277.

OR, should I gather more cash together and buy the Sovereign Proof?

Richard, I think you should take it. Kevin

Thanks Kevin, appreciated as you know your Sovereign coins.

I initially thought the same, as it appears to be a great price but my apprehension comes from me wanting the Sovereign.

Feels a bit like jam today!

Yes if you don't have one.

Yes to the full proof too ?

(you can't beat spending someone else's money ?)

I wish I had someone else's cash to spend on this one!

But seriously, I'm really torn with it.    I would usually make a decisive decision so perhaps I should leave it...I'm not in the best of moods for making any decisions as I'm on nights starting tonight, I hate night shifts.

If you are not sure then wait, you will still have your money (and possibly more by the time you decide) and prices may of come down, plus it gives you chance to change your mind, never rush into anything you will be full of regrets if you do and something isnt right.

I disagree, and I'm not trying to pick a fight! ?

It's a proof half sov and it's probably the finest design there is.

2,500 mintage. Only £27 premium on release price.

Chards are asking £330 but they are out of stock.

This will be a good investment and a damn fine addition to the collection.

Respectfully yours,

Thank you to all who have replied/reacted to this thread, you have helped me out with my decision making here.  I bought the Half Sovereign?

Thanks to @Roy and @KevinJam as always, for sound advice and support.

Thanks @SILVERFINGER.  I kind of changed the question to it being about my indecision, so no misunderstanding.   Your advice of not rushing in and perhaps regretting the decision was taken on board, and I took a couple of hours shut eye this afternoon before my night shift, and the rest allowed me to be more divisive.  Thank you.

As you say Roy, it will be a damn fine addition to my collection.  The extremely favourable counter offer of £270+ £7 special delivery postage by the eBay seller, in response to my ridiculously low initial offer will make this purchase over time, a sound decision.   Taking it down a further fiver with a Nectar voucher to £272 makes it even better?

I am in no doubt, that without the help of this Forum, I wouldn't be where I am now in my investment journey in such a short space of time.
