The buffalo is lovely in the hand with the fine details, but think you made the better choice going with the St Gaudens, you will be tilting it and glancing at it in different lights as it looks different each time you angle it :)

If anyone wants to buy a 2016 1oz gold Britannia from me at spot I will buy the buffalo too.

are you making a loss on the above item?

I bought the combibars in late March 2013 when spot was around £1060, just before it fell off a cliff and didn't recover until Brexit

If they sell today, sadly I would be selling at a loss, but I know what I am buying for my business will more than recoup the loss I make. So all is good

The gold to me is a store of value, this is money i have not been able to waste away drink away

Still can't grumble at the hourly rate today though!

I am on pro-rata £502,040 month currently or £6m a year if sales continue like this ongoing lol

?

If anyone was ever unsure of the liquidity of gold.....

Price sensibly

Build/earn a reputation

Stock up on 20 pesos and pre-33 gold ?

Well, that is me done for today.  My funds needed to be raised and all deals complete, everything packed and buyers updated in just under 6.5 hours.

Closing this thread as complete - thanks to everyone who has bought today, you have made a real difference to me and my life

£7.6k raised, £1600 more than I needed but hey, I might even spoil myself to something nice cos I can and I've helped a chap out in the process

As @Roy says above. Liquidity of gold.   I have done this without resorting to pawnbroking, loan sharking, paying handling fees on credit card cash advances, calling bank cap in hand to beg to request an overdraft raise or visiting a little Hitler behind her desk for a loan and computer in a bank for it to say NO

This thread proves, gold is a store of value and store of wealth. It has stored wealth for when I needed it, that business opportunity in my case or could be for the rainy day/black swan event/unexpected tax bill when you just need it.

Had I not bought gold I could have easily drunk, gambled, ate, holidayed away like I would have done in my 20s

Also shows when you price right here, your items sell. Be a good chap, price good and sales will come.

  • 1 month later...

Just as a little follow up to this thread from last month, who may have bought from me or anyone who followed the thread and be the slightest bit interested.

I needed to raise around £6k for a new income stream I was to start.  I oversold and had a sold £7,600 in total thanks to this fabulous forum recognizing trust and great value/service I provide.  I raised my funds in less than 7 hours in one busy Sunday

Well, In the past 40 days the funds in my new income stream, today my first landmark has been hit, I have taken my first £1,000 in recurring ongoing services

The nature of my new business is work will build much quicker now as I am seen more, reviews online are made and word of mouth spreads through my great job I always do

With steady growth, I estimate to have my forum gold sales recouped in another 4-5 months times.

Fortunately my new stream income has very little ongoing costs now I have bought everything outright I need, so Saturday tomorrow I am going to have myself a well deserved day off as I have not stopped the past 40 days, and treat myself to something some Golden Goodness again, most likely only a humble full sovereign but so pleased to be back on the stacking bus again and my stacking itch just now needs to be scratched again.

To those who have read this far, Thank you again everyone - signing off The Forum Optimist

Nothing exciting or flash, an area of one of the three D's : Dirty, Dangerous, Degrading.  Something people don't want to do, are scared to do or are too stuck up themselves to do it themselves or a combination of all three and cash arrives without too much of a hard sell.  Even better on a recurring monthly basis, you have an income stream ongoing for as long as you do a good job
