Recommended Posts

you can now place your order.

also @TheCoinConnection is also selling them on his website for a few shiny pounds cheaper than the RM...sadly only noticed after ordering ?

My one grudge with this coin is the mintage of 60000, but overall I like both designs.

Currently building my silver stack so looking for Kooks, Koalas, Eagles & Pandas

Outside of silver I also run a technology YouTube channel http://youtube.com/thenorthernblogger

Silver Proof editions will have a mintage of 60,000!

That's the Silver Proof in this limited presentation, no? The two coin set Silver Proofs are listed as unlimited mintage

I don't think the two coin order is a different item.  It's just committing to buy both silver proof coins.

Bought the silver captain cook coin, so I've just gone for the bu Paddington one myself. Not a huge fan of colourised coins anyway.

Fancy wall mounted TV and M&S marmalade! Paddington has gone up in the world ?

Paddington has gone up in the world! £60 for a pesky 50p (60,000) = £3,600,000 Royal Mint will pocket.

The two coin is still a 60,000 presentation (at least the first coin is).

True! But the Paddington coin is only jumping on the success of the recent(ish) film, 65th anniversary and the fact the writer recently passed away. And the fact the Peter Rabbit coin did so well first time around. RM are just jumping on the kids characters bandwagon. It will be the wombles next haha.

I still think this coin is better than some of the series rubbish they’ve been releasing over the last 18 months.

I personally love Paddington so I’ve been well and truly brainwashed ?

I just checked the RM specification on this page, 60k in limited presentation but Unlimited in any other format:

https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/paddington/paddington-silver-proof-2-coin-series/

I wouldn’t touch this with yours!

Thet can just release th silver proofs again and again in any packaging they want.

I’ll pick up a cheap one on eBay next year!

Correct, buy the coin not the idea of what it will make. I do think 60k as an overkill for it to go on a make a profit in the future however the RM are very clear as the Peter R is in people minds to go and get a load in case they all get snapped up. They’ll sell out for sure but you’ll always find one floating about. I like the idea and the design of both coins.

They don't even bother saying Unlimited Mintage on the BU packs...I don't think there is any rush on these.
