Western Australia - Metal Detecting For Gold

Recommended Posts

Hi all

i am in WA in a couple of months time to spend time with my wife’s family.

I am keen to do something other than spend time with the family and am looking at metal detecting tours - will probably only do one time in my life.

Has anyone (yup I know it is u likely...) done this before? Any feedback?

I love this show, looks more manageable than the gold rush/divers shows, which I also cant get enough of.

I’m going to Costa Rica in Jan, wasn’t sold on it until the missus found gold panning tours for me to try near one of our hotels.

The really hot area at the moment is the Pilbara region, where Novo Resources and others have been finding nuggets of gold the size and shape of pumpkin seeds. I've no idea about the legalities of metal detecting there.

>>> Whatever you do, be careful of spiders and snakes

... and ants, crocodiles, sharks, box jellyfish, irukandjis, cone snails, cassowaries, stonefish, blue-ringed octopus, in fact pretty much anything that moves.
