What was Your First Coin?

First ever coin I purchased was a Kruggerand many years ago now. Prices rose quickly back then, well for the time, and I sold it to pay for shipping my stuff to the antipodes.

Have a motley collection of pre EU European coins from all over, just holiday change, that type of thing, some inherited.

Oh, and I found in amongst a relatives belongings some WWI French banknotes.

First relatives handed me down their world coins (all circulation) so I had a 'collection' as a kid even though I had no clue what much of it is (still haven't!) though there are a few Thalers. My parents bought me a Roman coin to add to it which I must find.

As an adult a late relative gave me her treasured 1888 Sov when she was poorly.

In 2016 I started 'proper' with that year's Kook :)
