Price of metals

Extreamly loaded question.  You have to take “inflation” into account because of governments devaluing their currency’s by deficit spending and unchecked money creation.  You can’t simply make a blanket statement that gold is work £X.XX and silver is worth £Y.YY because the value of the currency fluctuates over time.  An argument could be made that gold and silver are tangible wealth and currency is fiat and has no real tangible value outside of fools willing to accept it, so gold in that perspective would be priceless.  For example would you want a fixed price for gold in Zimbabwe dollars?  How about $5 Zimbabwe dollars per ounce??  That’s over double your price in your question. I have a 100 trillion Zimbabwe note in my office that I would be happy to exchange for that rate for gold.  You see, the paper is worthless because it can be printed into worthlessness.  That only scratches the surface but I hope that helps!
