I can confirm that it is TransferWise exchange rate not European mint. Placed my order this morning.

Surely the exchange rate is the Transferwise one not European Mint's?

That's what I'm hoping as if you look at theirs things get dearer. The rate they quote makes it difficult to compare between the sites as it's so low.

Yes it is the same process as before. Prices are based on the euro price of GS.be for items that are to be price matched and the euro price of other items on the European mint website.

Then £ calculated by transferwise - as it is them that I will use to pay EU Mint.

Is it not the 22nd? Or is that for a different order?

I only place orders on the weekends. So if you want to lock in any orders this weekend and have this weekend prices then you need to do it today. Otherwise we have to wait until next weekend.

Ah got it. So if in the next few weeks the prices go up, those who locked in their prices prior still get the lower price?

And the 22nd is the overall cut off date?

Yep.

Hi @BackyardBullion, once again thanks for this! The group orders are always worth the wait!
Just wondering if the company have and of the QB Dragon 10oz in stock as it isn't on their site?

The 10 oz dragons are being ordered. We can price match today from GS.be

So if you (or anyone else reading) wants one we can do it. They are 163.80 EUROS

Goldsilver.be have the Perth Mint Lunar 2 Dog with the Lion Privy and a Niue Double Dragon (a cheap one at 15.52 euro) either in stock or coming.  I am assuming that neither of these will be popular enough to make it worth European Mint trying to get hold of them?

I have asked about the niue dragon already - I can ask about the privy dog, but don't get your hopes up.

Thanks Backyard, I will be putting the order in soon.

A quick heads up, I bought 9 ounces of gold and hundred ounces of silver from GSbe, as you know it was free delivery because the total was over 12 grand.

You mentioned they do not use reliable delivery services, I would like to provide balance and say they provide a very reliable service. I received two separate parcels, one from FedEx which came the next day, the other from Belgium Post which came two days after payment.

If euro mint are also using FedEx/ UPS and perhaps their national delivery service, with the cost of the delivery, this is not a unique selling point. I do not hold any bias and stick to whatever is cheapest and reliable. I think that is what most of us want over here.

Appreciate the feedback - I agree that having the cheapest price all in is important for a lot of people.

Personally I have never had any real issues with GS.be - but the fact that they do not exclusively use the likes of FedEx - basically only for orders with gold in them up to a certain value - is a worrying factor for me.

I am fortunate that I work from home 95% of the week - so I can plan to be in to accept delivery. Not possible for a lot of people and the thought of something being signed for by a neighbour and then something being wrong with the box is not one I like to think about. Let alone the thoughts of the parcel being left on the doorstep or in a bin or something!

In a situation like this having a company renowned for bad customer service worries me - having one I have a very good and close relationship with, scares me less.

I think it is good to try out others on the market and to get both companies thinking about improvements...

GS.be maybe will improve their customer services and delivery methods and European Mint maybe will look to their delivery costs and what can be done to make them more competitive.

And just like that, at 10.45pm I get an answer - yes a 1 oz maple can be price matched.
