Does anyone have any experience with buying from these chaps?

Based on my own monthly budget of £150-£200, it looks like their prices will give me the best bang for my buck due to their claims of no VAT being charged. I'm not interested in how pretty the silver looks and only interested in the silver itself. Out of a dozen UK dealers I've browsed so far, these chaps look to be the cheapest other than GoldSilver.be.

Am I right in thinking there's a catch to this "no VAT" claim? I've always believed that if something is too good to be true, then it normally is.

Well - they have pretty low prices, assuming you are buying 1000+ oz of silver.

Otherwise you are going to be paying £18 per oz for your silver oriental border britannias, compared to £15.50 per oz from GS.be

VAT free might mean they are selling them second hand, or that they are small enough business not to have to register for VAT.

@LittleJohnSilver

Price comparison.

For 10x 2018 britannias via these guys = £164.63 delivered

for 10x 2018 Britannias via GS.be (part of group order) = £141.38 + onwards postage (let's say £5 or £8) either way, at least £14 or £17 cheaper.

Could it be that they're quoting prices without VAT, as in they will then add 20% when you go through the checkout?

That's what I thought at first, but then found a few of their web pages stating "VAT Free delivered to your door". Something to do with the way their import silver by using some sort of EU import loophole.

A bit more information when clicking into a product, in this case I randomly chose a Britannia. Click on the "read more" tab -

When I emailed goldsilver.be, they quoted £16 (18 euros) for shipping as their website only shows a generic shipping charge. One thing I did also add to the goldsilver.be prices were 20% VAT as I assumed worst case scenario the silver will be charged VAT upon entry into the UK, making goldsilver.be £184.12 give or take?

Unless silver coming into the UK from another EU member state is VAT exempt?

Not sure if I understand what you mean by group order though....

That's precisely correct. We have a customs union (current at least) so no taxes on imports from the EU

That's interesting to know. For some reason I assumed things like precious metals was VAT charged, as every google search I did stated VAT on said items paid at point of entry.

But if there's zero VAT or tax being slapped on to any silver from goldsilver.be, then stuff Physical Gold Ltd, goldsilver.be it is then!

What's been your experience from buying from goldsilver.be? Has orders from then gone through Customs without a hitch or request for further tax payment?

There is no customs, we are all in the EU... currently.

I arrange a group buy once every few months. We save a lot on shipping.

currently the order is about 13,000 EUROs meaning your share of international postage is about 15p! All you do is pay for postage from me to you based on this scale:

I’ve ordered from them no problem. The hardest part was actually getting my bank to fund transferwise to change gbp to euro(it’s used by fraudsters apparently where they trick you to make payments) so they wouldn’t allow funding via credit card. Otherwise no problem
