Well - the total damage is 21,500 EUROs

1015 oz of silver, 2.5 oz of platinum and 1 oz of gold!

GS.be have confirmed that everything should be shipped this week - EVERYTHING!

Hopefully this means we should have a 1000 oz + unboxing video. God knows how I am going to film it.

What do you guys like to watch more, me talking as I fumble to unbox, or sped up so that you can see it all coming out quickly?

You could do a full version and maybe an edited highlights too? I mean, this is surely deserving.. a monumental unboxing.

Wow. Sounds like they are pulling all the strings for this order. I bet we created quite a big cloud there, with some fine silver lining.

Just the sight of 1000+ oz of silver together will be amazing.

I have recently made my own large order, I too received two parcels. Fedex will be a next day delivery despite coming from Europe, BPost is the other delivery service and that took two days and delivered on a Saturday too. Will make for a good video and i look forward to it.

It might sound like it, but no. GSBE quite regularly get orders of this size from many customers. GSBE are generally quite efficient I have found if your order is above £10000.

Nice one BYB!

Just out of interest how come the order will be shipped complete in one go? I thought there was a chance it would be split?

I think two separate parcels shipped at the same time is their plan. Originally they were going to ship a parcel last week but they were waiting on some coins.

I have been informed that the orders will be shipped into 4 separate parcels as the order is just so huge. Hopefully they will be with us soon - my best estimate for everyone is that your silver will be in the post to you early to the middle of next week.

I am now sending out onwards postage invoices to everybody involved. Some of you might not get one today as I am waiting to confirm with @augur who ordered what with is mini group order. The delay is so that I can correctly calculate how much postage will be based on the weight of your parcel.

We have paid a total of 36 EURO's for shipping. Due to the size of the order this won't impact people greatly. It is what it is and I am going to do my best to convince GS.be to give us free shipping in the future. But, they are doing a great job when you think they are boxing up 1000 oz of silver and there are a lot of different items in there!

Not sure that the unboxing videos will be out this weekend - If I get any deliveries before the weekend then maybe. Otherwise next week is going to be a big week of silvery goodness!

I thought shipping was 18€?! Not that it really impacts but other dealers give discount on larger quantities. Here, we pay the regular price (admittedly the lowest near and far) and instead of free shipping we get double the shipping cost?! Where is the belgian logic behind this move after ordering 4 times above the free shipping threshold?

It is what it is, at this point I think it is just not worth worrying about.

I just want the silver to arrive all safe and sound!

I think part of the issue is that these orders are so different and complex. Lots of individual and different coins to put into a box.

If you just have a monster box, this is easy. Wrap it and post it and you are done.

1000 oz spread over 40+ individual orders and consisting of lots of individual single coins as well.

Speaking from experience of putting these orders together and organising them from my end it will be a long old job for them.

I would rather them care a bit more about it and make sure they get it right than not.

1000oz! Wow. Well done BYB.

Tell me, after the postage costs from GS.be and BYB's onward postage, how much of a saving is made? Are they really that cheap? :)

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Well - for smaller orders and when people are happy not paying for special delivery then you can save £10 or more.

For those people not wanting to risk anything other than special delivery it is a saving of about £2 - £3 so not that much.

But, where I think that a lot of people see value in this order is that you don't have to set up an account with GS.be, you don't have to set up an account with transferwise, you don't have all the stress of doing the IBAN transfer (which I have heard people say they have gotten stung on before!).

Also, it is a good way to support my YouTube channel. These unboxing videos will get a few thousand views each and that brings new potential customers to my business as well. So by joining the order you are not only saving a few quid, you support me too.

Oh, and Mrs BYB and I get a big ass curry for our efforts too!

:D with the courier lobbing them any old place, that'll be fun for you. One in the wheelie bin - check. One in the flower bed - check. One that landed on next doors cat - check.

This and it's easier for me to have it delivered by special delivery as if I'm not in I can pick it up from the sorting office as trying to rearrange courier deliveries is a pain Inthe arse

THIS is why I go down the group order route, AND to support @BackyardBullion. My order wouldnt save much in delivery costs through the group order, but still worth it.

This is the cheapest UK, CGT exempt, VAT'd silver coin.

https://www.chards.co.uk/cheap-silver-coin/cheapest-1oz-silver-coins-cgt-exempt/4036

And this is the gs.be price

https://goldsilver.be/en/1-oz-30-gr/856-1-oz-silver-uk-rooster-2017.html

The difference before shipping is £1 per coin and with other coins the price difference will be even more pronounced e.g. the 1/10 oz Pt Britannia. VAT puts the British dealers at a disadvantage of 13% even if all other cost would be the same (the "VAT-free" silver gets VAT'd 7% at point of re-import).

I was foolish enough to buy from bullion by post so when compared to them this group order is mint. I do think I have made a significant saving per oz on this group order. In all honestly I cant wait for the next group order aswell. Massive thanks to BYB for his efforts and I hope to see a pic/vid of the curry order :D
