Hi SP

In a a word NO.

I have searched the UK but there is nothing suitable the  best ones I have found are in the USA.

I have been thinking of ordering some 25, about 8 for me, and the rest to sell first refusal here in the forum. I would think they would cost around £2-£2.20 plus whatever the P&P is here.

If you look in the forum under Silver Bars there is a picture there can't seem to insert one in the notes!!

Cheers

Keith

How are the edges on the air tite capsules, are they nice like the Perth mint capsules, or are they like the lighthouse ones with overlapping edges. I have a few coins that came in these crappy capsules, as well as a couple in flips.

I want to transfer into the nicest capsules I can find to display them in a case. Are the air tite capsules the best around?

The Air tites are pretty much the same as the Perth Mint and Panda capsules ;) They have a rounded edge. They are the best capsules i've certainly come across...and they are actually airtite. The first time i got them i sealed one i couldn't open it again....which put me off initially! but then i realised if you use the edge of a sharp knive on the seal it will open it slightly so you can then go on to open it back up, i've done this countless times without any problems so it makes them great IMO. They can seem a bit pricey once you've paid postage etc but i really do think they are worth the money. I buy i bulk to bring the price down and the capsule tubes are really great to get and look pretty nice filled with shiny silver :) I really like them.

Yes I use them also dogsoldier for my current collection of bars, makes viewing the contents very easy, and no finger marks!!

I will keep them but am ordering these square boxes for the lesser bars!!!

Thanks! I will have to get some in the future.

I have a couple of the red air-tite tubes, it's a bit annoying that they don't take a full roll of Perth Mint coins. But my plan is to use the coinarmour bags to keep the rolls in, so they stay nice and shiny for longer. And the tubes just for odd single coins, and then will probably put a tube a coinarmour bag, just to be extra safe ;)

I have a few coins that I only bought 1 of that are purely because I wanted to collect a few different coins, I will have to find out which air-tite capsules I need for them so I can display them all in a nice case. :)

Anyone using silica gel?

If so, do you use the smal bags or the bigger ones that you can reactivate?

I just ordered 50x1g sachets to put in the coin boxes and safe.

Not sure if they will do much, but they were very cheap so worth a shot.

Stacker since 2013

I am probably the guy with the most protection for my coins, and I have plenty of silica gel bags.

I bought loads of the standard bags, and then I bought one of the reactivate ones.

The more you have the longer they will last, as they each take up a share of drying the area out.

Once the colour indicator changes on the reactivate one, then I will know that I will need to replace the standard gel bags soon.

I also bought some of those coinarmour bags, some people think they are a bit expensive but I want to keep my silver in the best possible way.

Hello

I like that idea.

That has also given me another bright idea!!!! :D (Sorry no light bulb)

I have a vacuum machine and the bags for sealing stuff in. I am going to get my coins sorted on my return to the UK and start to seal the silver in the bags I also have the small oxygen sachets that will remove the last trace of O2 so they should be well protected from the damp, and last eons without any marks!

Will keep you guys posted as to how I get on.

I´m planing to get a pair of the 40g that can be reactivated, as im worried that when the small paper ones get full they ad moisture instead of taking it away.

I have seen them in bigger sizes too, but think 40g is enough for me.

they should be able to hold about 85L space moist free.
