Can't believe I got this nice bit of history from the SS Gairsoppa ship 🚢  That went down in 1941 in Irish waters 💦

Struck down by a German U-boat.

Silver recovered in 2013 from the depth of 15,000 feet...

Very cool 😀

It was time to balance silver exposure over gold. 200 ounces of QB lions from the European mint splitted over 2 orders. Super satisfied for the quality and European mint service.

Beautiful piles of silver!

One on ebay  at the moment

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ie%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264540102354

at £260.

I picked mine up at private auction.

I think it's the coolest  bit of silver I've purchased to date...

 Definitely a keeper...

Usually it goes into a safety deposit box  but this one I'm keeping at home for display...

Such a cool story attached to it  Great talking point.

At the end of the day it's still 10 ounces of silver.... but a pricey 10 ounces lol 😂

Nice entry into the LMU club! You could easily post the coins on the 20 Franc thread if you dare (the possible financial implications)

I don't know much at all about 20 Franc coins, but what I do know is they are on sale at HGM for under 1% premium on spot if you're interested! 10+ available, unlikely to be collector condition of course but might be worth a phone call if anyone's after a specific date!

I bought this 2017 1 Onza Libertad from @kneehow2018 in Summer 2018, But only submitted it recently- back today from NGC- and very pleased with the PF70 UC result.

And at last, the 2017 Libertad 5 coin ‘set’ altogether.

All bought individually from the Silver Forum over the last 18 months or so.  Thanks to @augur, @austack, @kneehow2018 & from the USA @mongo28 for parting with them.

Yes- and the 1/2 & 1/4 'need' a 'special' México blue label.

On an optimistic note- the 1/2 Onza was bought already graded and @mongo28 submitted it originally to NGC without conservation.  I cannot see any imperfections on this coin except a couple of areas where there is what looks like, some surface detritus- likely a bit of dust.  Over time, I will likely resubmit to NGC for conservation and reappraisal.

I live in hope.

Yah think!?!🤣 Excellent, very very excellent! That would be my whole load blown for a year!

Thanks 🙂

Just noticed the Britannia's are 1987 as well, first year produced. Given they aren't mint condition I doubt that adds a premium, but a nice pair to receive nevertheless!
