Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

The Mexicans make good gold coins. I had the set of gold bullion peso's dos to centenario but have sold all but the 20 peso, its the one coin I actually keep on hand to look at. I do regret selling the Dos peso though, I don't normally like small coins but I have an attraction to that little coin that I do not understand.

I collect the dos whenever I can get hold of them at decent premiums. 8 and counting lol

I got this Edward VIII 5 penny to add to my sixpence collection. It's the closest I could find for him.

Does anyone here have an Edward VIII collection? I have the 1/2 penny also. I'm not sure if there are gold sovereigns or dollars from the commonwealths. I know there are very rare UK sovereigns.

Only hold coins with him on it are in the museum, with one proof sov as an exception. I think it was sold for over six figures at auction.

Way too many fakes of his coins

Is this a "fake" or fantasy coin? Are there any legit sixpence from the commonwealths?

I am not a specialist but from what a recall there are NO general circulation coins bearing his portrait.

The ones that exist were stolen from the Mint or passed out unauthorised.

A brass threepence at auction if real would fetch between £15,000-£30,000

infact from the listing seller makes it clear it’s a copy

The ONLY way for most of us to own one of these is with this modern copy.
