1887-M Shield - Gorgeous specimen of this great rarity.

To be honest I'm not sure why this is only MS61, the prooflike nature makes this coin an absolute stunner, cannot seem to capture it in the phone images (sorry for the quality, they are focusing on the slab, but wanted to share). I'll get some better pics in the future!

I agree. I noticed there's only 3 graded 62. yours even has the kiss curl still visible. Still, it's a beautiful Sovereign.

Today I received

 

1950 Gold Saudi Arabia Guinea, pretty chuffed with it.

 

Interestingly it has a small scratch mark just above the base of the palm tree on the obverse side (the one without the swords). The guy I got it from had another one in really bad shape but interestingly it also had a minute scratch mark in exactly the same spot. After googling loads of images of the coin it looks like it may have been the standard place traders used to scratch this coin with a pin head to see if they were real gold.

This is why I don't slab coins, I buy them occasionally if the coin inside is desirable to me but I don't trust a lot of the gradings, it's too subjective.

Yes the curl is lovely and the pictures really really don't do it justice. This is in my top 5 (if not number 1) of nicest shields, and I have a lot of shields!

In my opinion this could easily be one of the 650 Pyx trial pieces, one of the first struck from a die at the very least. Such a rare coin and very annoying that actual mintage figures aren't known.

I ordered two of the 2009 Proof Australia Sovereigns from Chards when on offer, the email order confirmation and the invoice that came with them cite the 2009, but I received 2x 2010’s!

I could start to collect these little beauties... lovely overall package.
