More pre 1933 gold. One 1862 "civil war" $1. Covered in crud but underneath I think is a lovely coin waiting to emerge once cleaned and a 1905 $5 Half eagle with hardly a mark on it. Both make an offer buys from ebay.

These rounds were on sale on APMEX last week, so I grabbed a few.  The US government dumped silver into the open market in 1980 and 1981 to drive down prices after the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market, and these were supposedly minted using the silver sold from the strategic reserve.  In any case, not bad looking for over 35 years old!

I love these coins.  Can I ask what price you got them for?  I’ve got a gold buffalo planned from my bonus in sept but these and the indian heads are tempting me.

Atkinsons had a few 1905 $5 coins all in uncirculated or as near as damned for ages but I don't know if they have any left.  They were around £278 when I contacted them but they weren't really willing to lower the price and had considered having them graded.  £278 was slightly too high for me but I think I did end up with one as they don't come up for sale that often over here unless it's at stupid prices on ebay.

That apmex is a great site, low shipping within US. I was born in the wrong country....

Today, I received:

Tamnavulin reduced from £32 to £22 at Morrisons.  Maybe there's a correlation between Whisky and PMs?

Guess I need to check the local. My mate drinks this and his birthday is coming up.

I got my first order from Eldorado coins based in Germany (I believe). Postage was pretty good on 20 coins (£8 odd) - ordered at the weekend and arrived (tracked) today. I haven't been over them all with a fine tooth comb yet but absolutely delighted to open this well-packaged parcel (comms have been great too). I am dead chuffed with all these coins - I never thought the Marvel ones would grab me (I only know the Spidey comics and haven't followed the films), but a few videos changed that and I think they are very cool indeed- very different from what I normally stack :)

They are all an ounce, I just had to take a shot at a weird angle to (try to!) show off some of the lightplay on the Marvels (my phone camera is rubbish), but really stoked with all so far. The Marvel at the top are also part of rolls, so higher up and it distorts perspective. The Niue 'double dragon' was very cheap and is nice I think for what it is, much better than some of their other stuff, so both obverse and reverse for those are shown at the bottom, please ask me if'd like close up just on those :)

@Bullionbilly and @Oystonout might be interested as we had been chatting about some of these coins and this new dealer:

Above the TEN D on right had coin, is that a mark what looks like a W or pressed in?

It's where the mint marks are on these but there was no W.

It is just a mark on the coin, no mint mark on either of these, so Philadelphia Mint.
