Really nice coins there, and decent photography makes all the difference, some of these I seen online with the websites generic images dont do anything for me, but nice pics like these really show them at their best.

Yeah but not by someone with catarracts and parkingsons , and using perfect lighting for an awkward to photograph subject,  even the best camera wont take good pictures with a bad operator.

1887 sovereigns - the £2 double and £5 quintuple. Got these at auction - and very happy with them both!  A few rim nicks but otherwise pretty clean fields and designs. The detail on the Vic side is really quite something - so much easier to see on these bigger sovs.  The weights check out exactly and they have that unique 1887 “yellow gold” look due to the silver content, so i am confident they are not fakes ?. Only way to be really sure i guess would be to send them into PCGS or NGC. I reckon they would maybe get AU 58.  Other opinions on the potential grades? The indiividual photos are of the £5  ... where there are some surface marks / hairlines ? on the Vic side

Very nice coins. I find it interesting that the  larger dies get an extra layer of detail: for example the wings of the dragon have some additional "veins" compared to the sovereign and on the tip of the crown of the quintuple there are three extra jewels on little processes.

How big is the fractional Platinum coin then say compared to a UK 5p, and that rooster is beautiful, my missus has a ring/pendant/earring set that has something called mosaic opal set into it that looks like the centre of that coin what is it ?

I bought a $5 Indian half Eagle on eBay from Apmex when they were having a sale plus 10% eBay bucks. I was not happy with the condition and didn't believe it was XF as advertised. I emailed them and sent it back. I think I got a great one in return. I think it is in gradable condition. Any thoughts?

Its probably the size of a 5p piece, bit thinnner. I think in @BackyardBullion latest video he actually has 2 of them shown, they are tiny ha!

Also received an extra rarity to my Sovereign collection...an 1859 Young Victoria Shield Gold Sovereign “Ansell” variety!! This Marsh listed R4 is even better in hand and great to compare with my Normal 1859! 

I would like to extend a huge thank you and appreciation to @sovereignsteve for his sound advice and expert counsel when I reached out to him for advice on bidding for this rarity!

Lastly, please watch @Numistacker‘s video on the history of the Ansell Sovereign, which provided excellent insight for adding this rarity to my collection!
