Yup!

I have them already (boxed/COA) but I need some loose ones to fill in the gaps.

No rush. Everything comes to he who waits :)

I don't come across axis misalignment that often at all, I'm not sure if I even have another. But this one is huge!

I know typically slight alignment issues aren't considered an error but this one may warrant it?

Yes, can't wait until I fill it up, maybe there will be a truce in the friendly  rivalry whilst I concentrate on my date run....<_<

Roy, if you see me on here posting again before 10pm this evening, remind me that I'm at work and that I really should get on with it.

Are you referring to the original books or the latest, updated version? I would expect the latest version to be fairly close to reality, having been updated by someone prominently in the trade for years. Or at least a good estimation and to reflect current best knowledge.
I think you are doing Marsh somewhat of a disservice; to suggest he effectively plucked some of these figures out of the air is unfair. I was under the impression that Marsh compiled his original ratings using mintages, his experience and that of friends and people in the business. In fact he revised a lot of the availability figures from version to version in the light of further experience.
Also, don't forget that he talks about the availabilty of these varieties in grades of VF and above. Once you add in lower grades, the numbers can rise substantially.

I would agree though, that 60 is looking a bit ridiculous:P

You are in the fortunate position to be able to assess the Marsh ratings in the light of your not inconsiderable numbers of coins. However, these have been compiled over a relatively short period of time and should be taken as an addition to the general consensus and not a replacement. Nobody knows all the facts and it may well be that your holding could alter the consensus of knowledge about certain coins. However you need to recognise that your holding is still small compared to all the collectable coins held throughout the world.

I love this post because of the perfect phrasing, grammar, and punctuation (besides the content itself!)

I am a stickler for this, and I don’t mean to come across as a snob, but it really makes me happy to see English used as such, especially on the internet. And while I don’t go about calling people out on their imperfect writing (as I understand it may be because English is not their first language; and in any case, who am I to judge!), I do dish out a compliment when the opportunity arises. :)

I really like those Gairsoppa Silver Britannia Coins pictured above, but Jeez they are expensive.  The source I found for them is 3x spot, I mean WTF ?  I don't mind the mint putting a small premium on the metal to strike them, but 3x ?  They are pretty, but no silver is that special, I don't care if the pope rubbed it on his ass before they put them in the tubes.

How's my English Westminstrel ...

Nice to get finished work and even nicer to receive these fab Sovereign boxes courtesy of @MikeSol

On a less favourable note, not pleased to receive a fixed penalty notice for speeding courtesy of North Yorkshire Police.  52mph in a 40mph...IMG_3992.thumb.JPG.c129ab59ad04e60d84c5362010d8714a.JPG

I have a Gairsoppa 10 oz bar. Thankfully the dealer I bought it from had no idea what it was and I got it at spot plus 5%

Apparently, with the speed I was travelling at, I will be eligible for speed awareness course.  My mate just got done in December and he did the course, he paid over £85 for the privilege and only paid that, no fine on top.  Fingers crossed!

I wasn't aware that last April the fines went up dependent on category of speed your caught at:

Category

A= 50% weeks income.

B= 1 weeks income

C= 1 and a 1/2 weeks income

All maximum of £1000. Not sure if it's actual income net or gross? Or if disposable income?

DON'T GET CAUGHT!!!!!

Lucky. That means no points to declare either. I hate those new tiers.

Definitely take the course. It'll cost you the money to attend (but there is no fine) and a days time but it means no points and, more importantly, not having to declare it to your insurance. It used to be that you had to take the course in the county or force area where you were caught but now you can attend at a centre near to where you live.

Does it work like the old driving test where you can pay someone to take it for you? :ph34r:
