1871 London Shield Back Die 7 is probably the pick of the bunch.  I have never graded a bullion sov in my life - but can you Sovereign guys estimate the potential NGC grade (AU58?).

I would say about MS61

Tidy business live at auction this weekend. A total of 6 full sovereigns - four Vics (average of £279 each for an 1871 shield, 1875 M, 1888 S Jubilee Head, 1900 old head), the bullion 2017 (always fancied one - but missed out until today) and finally - a 2017 proof Sov [emoji4]. Paid £680 for that proof - but its in good shape and frankly i don’t see it getting cheaper anytime soon.  Of course i should have bought it straight away from the Mint for was it £525? But hindsight is easy.

Of the Vics - i needed a Jubilee Head for my type set, and the 1871 London Shield Back Die 7 is probably the pick of the bunch.  I have never graded a bullion sov in my life - but can you Sovereign guys estimate the potential NGC grade (AU58?).

Other major win was a boxed proof 2017 silver Krugerrand - along with some other silver bullion (including some pre-47 UK and US ) and one of those weird Tristan Da Cunha proof silver coins all for £111.  Wanted that silver proof Krug after seeing many here getting them....but never fancied paying the crazy prices.  Reckon that was a real bargain, and it is a stunning piece. Finally  - if anyone can give me any info on the TDC £1 0.925 silver proof 100th anniversary of the House of Windsor .... i would appreciate it. I cannot find anything about it - but it is claimed to be 0.925 silver.

Can anyone tell me about these British Trade Dollar coins from China?

These are imitation ones that I got for less than $2 each free shipping on eBay. The one on top was listed as imitation Dragon coin. So maybe not a British Trade dollar.

Anyway, were these originally silver? What % ? And are they rare, the real ones? I like the copies just for the design. I think the large Britannia is really nice and the Dragon which has no Britannia on the reverse.
