The 1923-SA Sovereign story

Great video and nice to see your "Kings" Proof Sovs taking shape.
I saw the 1923SA's on Ebay - good job we weren't bidding against each other!
Bought my 1923SA raw 4 years ago from a Baldwins Auction. Interesting but you don't see many change hands and the price now is roughly only 15% higher than it was 4 years ago.
I bought my 1902 Matte Proof off Ebay a few years ago in an ANACS wallet, which I removed and then had it graded with PCGS - came back the same grade!
I should receive my 1937 1/2 Sov tomorrow - I thought it better value than the full Sov and allowed me to get a nice grade - the same grade full Sov was 3.5x more!
I think I should change my name to "The Shadow".
Happy searching...........

I'm glad I was not bidding against you too )) the 1923-SA is a bit under the radar and is too cheap relative to the 1911 and 1937. 655 minted and many probably ruined over the years.

Your Sovs are safely through customs

Its the Bullion Sovs that are the scarcest, I had a chance to pick one up about 4 years ago and went for the Proof instead - oh dear!! A lot of the Proofs survived because they were sold in sets and stayed that way for many years - the Bullion coins however - now that's a different story.
Never mind, I have a lovely coin that you don't see that often! There are the common hairline marks that you see on this type of "set" coin, similar to the 1937. Mintage of 655 as against 5,501 - and the 1923SA is about 2/3 the Price of the equivalent 1937 - now that's what I call value - well done!
Been keeping an eye on the post!! and the weather!!

Very nice post.

I also bid on 1923 PR62 NGC sovereign.

The 1911 PR66CAMEO at the photo , used to be part of my collection.

I will put some pictures of a 1923 SA PR66 , it will be on auction in January

Top grade and population one in PCGS.

The canadian sovereigns are always my favorite. Well done.

I have a hunch that the George proofs will be a good investment over the next 15-20 years steadily rising in price as the Victoria and earlier proofs have done.
