If it's the same one, great service.

Hello all
Has anybody bought from or know anything about an online trader and Ebay seller, "Silvertrader uk" based in Newcastle.
I'm considering making a purchase but thought I would seek advice first.
Thanks in advance
Myblueheaven
I have quite a few times, he has his own website https://www.silvertrader.uk which his stuff is cheaper than in ebay, he is a member on this forum as well, nothing to worry about with him, no problems at all.

He was the first person I bought from so I also recommend him. Apart from being a decent bloke, I've heard he smells nice and has decent fingernails but I can't vouch for this.

I've got a feeling he was the chap who took on HMRC regarding the VAT on silver imported from Europe. I would link you to the Predecimal forum but I'm really quite drunk at the moment and need to be up in 5 hours to play golf.

The marvels of this forum - I had never come across this UK seller but have bookmarked for future reference.

Checking out the 2018 Lunar II Dog here are some comparisons -

Silver trader £23.89
Atkinsons £28.74
STG £20.96 + shipping
Best German price €21.58 ( £19.10 - £19.50 depending on where you exchange your GBP ) + shipping
GS.be - €21.71 ( see German price ) + shipping

I paid £22.71 per coin ( 5 coins ) including special delivery....

GS.be the next cheapest but even using BYBs monthly order I don't think they can beat this price after the onward shipping.

This forum is fantastic !!!!!!

I did a pre-order on these at 21.5 plus shipping (23.5 for a single) with free delivery for a roll. Sadly I didn't put it up on here because I don't want to pay the business license due to wanting to not going over the VAT threshold (it would probably take me over). Whilst I have already made the order, there are plenty of deals to be had on social media.

As for Martin, he is a great guy. I have bought from him and his service is top notch.

@Pete he is the guy who was fighting HMRC, complaining to Parliament and the like about 5% VAT on silver. Sadly his postings did not end definitely except to say people should put in claims for excess VAT paid. It would be interesting if he let us know how this ended. Having said this it is not something to advertise if you are a UK seller.

i think this is probably him looking at the posts he has liked here - all Customs Code postings http://thesilverforum.com/profile/132-silvertrader/

That gives us two decent sources - the Forum and Martin for buyers of a few coins.
Question for Martin though - assuming no change in spot, will his prices rise post Brexit ?
Prices from the EU will be subject to full VAT and not the differential VAT they use to their ( and our ) advantage.
