2017 1/4oz Gold Libertad Proof or Bullion?

I was thinking getting either 1/4oz of gold Libertad for myself as a birthday gift and has been looking around for it and found that both proof and bullion version is between £370+ range. I am very attracted by the mirror finish of the proof version but got a bit turned down by the mintage and the bullion seems to be a good bet with 500 expected to be minted but not sure is it worth paying that much of a premium for a bullion coin tho... any advise? I am planning to grade them no matter which one I got at the end of the day.

Firstly, either option is a good but. It is true that the proof will have a higher mintage this year compared to the BU but it will have a low mintage than the equivalent coin last year and in absolute terms the mintages is still very low for a very beautiful semi numismatic coin.

So far I have only bought the BU coin as the proof will be far easier to find going forward. The proof is probably more attractive but the BU is likely to be a semi key date and will hold it's value well going forward.

2018 is likely to be a design change year for the Libertad.

Curious me wants to ask the obvious question because you said the same thing last year. So who is the source of this piece of info this year and will we hear the same thing next year?
