At these prices this deal deserves a bump

The one year only cypher tops my list, I have the 1/4 Oz version & am currently aiming to get the 1 Oz shortly, Tavex & Chards have this coin on offer at the moment & with the price of gold being where it is I am getting close to pulling the trigger, fingers crossed for a further dip next week 😁

Cracking price, suprised not been snapped up, am tempted myself but working up to getting a desired 1oz at present

I stack mainly sovereigns, many of the modern ones I have in capsules, however I get far more pleasure in handling the older sovereigns, the one's I describe as having character, can't beat a handful of sovereigns clinking about together 😁

Appreciate the tag, have collected foreign coins in the past, but am tending to stick to CGT free coins presently, sovereigns, Britannias etc, feel free to tag me for any of those when they come up, thanks

The mintage figures for the Melbourne mint doesn't differentiate between the shied and George & Dragon, not that I can see anyway 😕, maybe Lawrence Chard could give us a bit more info if he sees this post, he just mentions that it is much rarer 😁

You're right that the mintage figure is more for the Melbourne mint & therefore more common & that's reflected in the prices, however what it fails to mention is the Melbourne shield back version which appears to be extremely rare, unfortunately can't seem to locate how rare 😕

The Melbourne Mint issue is distinctly rare." The one on sale at Chards is from the Sydney Mint, presumably the rarer Melbourne Shield version would demand a greater price.

I have also reported to eBay. hopefully with the amount of people reporting this listing they may actually do something, but don't hold your breath. Why anybody would part with their money without doing research before hand, baffles me 😕

I tend to buy best value sovereigns, as I like to be able to handle my gold & not have them in capsules, however when special events occur I do pick them up, so recently I've had to have had deep pockets, so many special occasions. You can pick up older sovereigns if you're not fussy about a particular year, most company's do a best value range & from all monarchs from Victoria to Elizabeth.

Gold is blooming addictive & expensive, old Charlie boy better hang around for a few years as I can't afford to keep buying these special edition coins, those mintage figures, if correct, have forced my hand & I've placed an order, bread & marmite for the rest of the month 😁

My immediate thought was that it's taken a hard knock & disfigured the letter, but admittedly I'm no expert 😁

Last Sovereign I received from Bleyer a few days ago was an Edward VII 1910 in good condition, but admittedly you take your chances with year, but I haven't been disappointed with the condition of any I've purchased from them, I'm a stacker & best value suits me just fine 🤗, I'm not bothered about date runs or specific years, just volume at the best price 😁
