  1. That's a wide spread and wouldn't sell to them at those rates. Having said that just sold a 1oz gold brit to them at 1% below spot so no complaints on that side. Interesting to read that they are paying £20.95 for silver maples, this also applies to philharmonic which is a good offer imo. I have some and was thinking of selling them here but as someone with no selling feedback would likely have to pitch them at £22ish. So Atkinsons are good value here for newby selling. Two sides to every coin as they say 😄
  2. Thanks for all the replies, I ended up selling to Gerrards. To be fair the prices offered at time of my first post Gerrards were offering 49.3p a gram. Best offer here was 50p but only wanted 1 or 2 hundred quids worth at a time so postage would have made it costly plus Gerrards paid out soon after receiving the silver. The Silver forum is a good place to buy though😀
  3. Wrong post so edited out.
  4. One of those will be a nice addition, pm for payment details please.
  5. Looking to sell not buy I'm afraid.
  6. Looking to sell some 925 silver and had always thought Gerrards of Hatton Garden were the best on price but having looked they seem to have softened on price. Looked at Bairds and slightly better but they were trade prices so assume private would be less. Approx 1 kilo of 925 hallmarked and 1.9 kilo of melt and assay bar. Any pointers?
  7. Can't help with your query but given James32 reply I'd be worried, because he says they're cheap.
  8. Thanks NGMD, useful info. I would pay £330 if anyone is interested.
  9. As above, please contact via pm with asking price. I'd like to pay £250 but expect to pay a bit more 🤣
  10. Yes please! Happy to pay for postage.
  11. Well done to both the buyer and seller. I went off to investigate the 2010 set and when I came back it had been bought. 1750 sets made BTW according to Chards.
  12. ...mate Half man half biscuit. Takes me back. Apologies to op but a free bump nonetheless.
  13. Sixgun and Mobius thanks for putting the record straight. No wonder I couldn't find it in a silver hallmark book but assumed they would be the same 🙃
  14. I can't answer the question but don't think it's London 1894 as the T is in a different "frame". Ones a shield the other an octagon. Interesting thread though and I'm sure someone will be along shortly to solve this. Also not sure about the makers mark but would have thought a Coventry goldsmith would have got it hallmarked in Birmingham?
  15. Thanks for the replies. Vf seems to be the consensus of opinion which is good enough for me. I had felt that it was an average coin and an unassuming year so certainly not disappointed with your remarks, happy to have things confirmed 😀
  16. Thanks Silverjacks I wasn't aware of either of those links. The coin came from my father's estate so just interested in grading for curiosity. They will probably be left to my son unless I fall on my uppers in my dotage 🤣
  17. OK, where to start. Firstly I know nothing about gradings and am furthermore flummoxed as I understand that an old coin will be graded differently to a newer coin. So any pointers for a simpleton like myself would be appreciated. Here is a 1864 sov that I have, any advice on grading would be welcome.
