    £634 in current melt value by the looks of things, seem to be selling for anywhere from £750-£810 at the moment

    I got given some coins today by my mum who acquired them when my auntie died. Most of them I think (after a bit of an internet search) are not really worth much, however, this one seems to be different. If anyone who has more knowledge than me would like to give their thoughts then it would be very much appreciated. TIA.

    they've only started appealing to me lately as a low premium option for fractional gold (especially half sovs), in terms of the actual coins - idk, they're OK.

    That for me is another key factor. Sovereigns are more afforable on a regular basis, have a better chance of being sold at a premium based on date, grade and rarity, and easy to offload when short of a couple of hundred quid and need cash quick.
