My first 1/4oz gold Britannia. I have quite a few 1oz gold coins, but this is my first fractional coin.
I quite like it. Not as much as the full Britannia, but it's still nice, and still gold!

Something big and shiny arrived this morning. It's not something I normally collect but I think the design is one of the prettiest around so I couldn't resist when I saw this.

Hello, received quite a few coins this week. The last package was from an Australain eBay seller and included the proof 2002 1/2 sovereign, 1990 silver £1 proof coin, the 1995 £2 2nd world war silver proof and the 1986 U.K. BU coin collection. A bit of a mixed bag and was really only after the 1/2 sovereign but the others are nice looking coins.

Is it significant for the future prospects of all things Paddington, that there is no queuing at the RM site today?

    Also received some gold...
Added a first to the gold sovereign collection. An 1866 Sydney Branch Mint Queen Victoria Australia One Sov.

An 1887 Jubilee Head (London Mint) Gold Sovereign from an eBay auction...
And a “lucky dip” 1957 Gold Sovereign from APMEX.
Overall a good spread of sovs added to the collection!

2017 Palau “Great Micromosaic Passion” Series Birth Of Venus 3 Oz Silver $20 Coin. This coin features more than 5,000 minted tiles thanks to the Smartminting technology and comes in a mosaic tile shaped case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of only 499 pieces. Really like this design!

A few coins arrived today. This is one I bought from Atlas Numismatics in the US (first time I have purchased from them). It's the 1911 proof 1/2 sovereign, 66CAM. Lovely coin.

Although this is sound advice, I was  underwhelmed by the size of half sovs or 1/10 oz coins, they’re just too small to enjoy, so now stick to full sovs and 1/4 oz coins.

Eventually, yes, but they had been available elsewhere first.
I also bought one of each and got lucky, as they both graded at MS69.

I believe they are commissioned by Goldco in the USA.  They did release a Rooster but I don't think they ever did a horse.  Most are kept in IRAs for their customers.

    Just arrived from HGM.
Took a chance on a lucky dip DOUBLE SOVEREIGN that popped up and have had everything crossed for a G&D and not a commemorative.
    1990... lovely!

This may well be the nicest coin I own, had to get it to match my BU version.
These will be so sort after imho with a mintage of only 750, had to grab this PF70. This is only available in the 5 coin "long set", which were 3300 RRP and have sold for 5300 on ebay already, only a few for sale atm at 6-8k.

My first order with @ElDoradoCoinsdotDe very happy. All present and correct, coin/cases in good nick, well packaged, will be using again.

Also loving that the German for coin gloves is basically 'money hand-shoes'

A few pickups from the last few weeks. Starting with a nice piece of old Swiss gold together with a modern shiny Swan. The 10 francs Vreneli is not one you see so much of, compared to the 20 francs.
Then some auction pickups. Nice haul of bullion Libertads in a mixed lot: happy to find some of the old and lowest mintages (1999 was second lowest year @95,000) and cool to see the transition from 1999 to 2000 in the Mexican coat of arms. In the same lot were a dozen Kookaburras - all in perfect shape. Most interesting was this 2008 in its original card. That happens to be my favorite Kook design !
A really characterful 8 reales from 1763 (with a chopmark in the globe), love these historical pieces. May not grade it though because NGC will probably find something to downgrade: these coins had a colorful life so i dont really care what the grade could be😊.
Was after a different year (1860s)  - as i already have one, but picked up another 1870 Australian sovereign (this one probably better than my earlier one).
Finally - at a price less than the going rate for the single proof, a 1989 double sov proof.  Did not realize how low (2,000) the mintage was - so hopefully these will go up over time.  This one is definitely headed to Numistacker for NGC🙏😀

My grandad was in the London fire brigade in the war. He had some stories of burning bodies. So i did not post but i did not forget. Least we forget - England started the war and England started the bombing. Hitler never wanted war with England. War could have been avoided. English people died needlessly because of the traitors in our government who were spoiling for war. Most of the His Story books forget to mention these little details. Most of the His Story books forget to mention most of the truth and spin propaganda.
