If u wanna buy a 1/40th oz gold coin I’d head on over to the royal mint! They’ve a lovely life buoy 🛟 for £100! Might need a microscope to see the detail! 👀

I'm wondering if people are less willing generally to pay the premium on proofs? Wanting instead nice quality bullion version of the same coin?

It's quite possible, could be a definite phase we are going through. Although I'd expect the market to recover in a few years all being well in the world, then people will go back to wanting what they don't have.

These Combibars are cool. Thing is, after buying a slab of 100g I have to buy 1 gram from eBay for £3 to avoid the temptation of breaking into a bar. I just have to touch that single gram

It's impossible to get a fair trade with silver and gold because of the premium and VAT, I mean nobody buys silver premium and vat free do they?
😉

I should have joined TSF before Chris invented it in 2014 really.
I have never met so many AWAKE people who think so differently, all in one place. It's great, I laugh a lot at your Anything Goes posts.

ShineyMagpie reacted to Fadeingstar in Sigma Precious Metal Varifier Bullion Unit Potential 3rd Run
Hello Neil,
I will try my best to answer your questions:
1) I think it all depends on how you will buy your silver. If you want to buy larger bars then the pro series with the external bridge is probably the way to go for the big bars. If you are buying your silver 10oz bar at a time or buying tubes of 1 oz coins/rounds at a time then a PMV pro could be considered overkill and so a PMV original could be the way to go. It is also worth noting that the PMW original allows you to toggle between 999 silver and 9999 silver others do not. If you would like a PMV pro I can explore pricing options they will be very expensive though and I would require a large deposit.
2) With regards to buying silver as close to the spot as possible this is difficult silver is subject to 20% VAT in the UK. The best place is the buy and sell page on the forum I think silver is going for around £25 an oz at the moment for the generic coins which is cheaper than any dealer in the UK.
Many Thanks,
Fadeingstar
