When I saw your topic / thread title:
How to tell me difference between SOTD & Bullion
I thought is was going to be an expert guide.
Once I opened the thread and looked at it, I discovered you were asking a question.
Just as well @MJCOIN was around to provide such an excellent answer.
(Is he trying to put me out of business?)
😎

Thanks @MJCOIN
This was what I was interested in
I was more concerned someone could swap the SOTD with a Bullion coin and there wouldn't be any visual difference!
LOL @paulmerton;)

@gsimpson
In addition, the minting process between bullion and brilliant uncirculated is different giving it a visible difference in quality. Here is a video from the Royal Mint

Plus the bullion sovereign might come in a better box

These are the differences:-
The SOTD sovereign is produced in limited numbers (mintage) - 1,200 from memory. The bullion version has (in theory) no limit on the numbers produced. The SOTD sovereign has a plain edge as opposed to the usual milled edge found on bullion (and proof) sovereigns The SOTD sovereign has a matte finish The SOTD sovereign comes with a hand signed COA and box The SOTD sovereign will be worth more than a bullion sovereign (most people will agree with this but some consider it no better than a bullion sovereign. Personally I think it is the sovereign to have of all the Platinum Jubilee sovereigns). I think that's the main differences.

Reply already, so I am suitably impressed with this response so far.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to write to both Anne and Leighton regarding the quality challenges experienced on the Sovereign 2022.
Firstly, on behalf of The Royal Mint I wish to apologise that you have needed to write to explain these very poor quality challenges.
I will be organising an immediate review and investigation and will be able to provide an update within the next 24 hours if not before,
My contact detail is listed below and I will be organising the right teams to support this review.
Best wishes

Today i received my first graded coins from @Numistacker although they all got 70’s, but the reason i wanted them in a slab is because it is easier to look at closely and enjoy. Plus the slabs makes them feel more precious! I even had them in scratch proof slabs but i got some scratches on the plastic 😅 i think ngc’s scratch resistant plastic is just the same as the normal one.

Little & Large arrived today to entertain. Much more enthralling than the comedy duo...
The Mercury Dime is one of my favourite designs.
I’m over the moon with my grading results.
And thank you to @Britannia47 for this 2017 Half which has remained unopened since its manufacture.

Nope! We did exchange messages a few weeks ago and he said he would send but nothing since
If @AuricGoldfinger does not receive his or her Christmas Prize, I am willing to donate a 1oz silver coin.
I hate people getting ripped off.
@Bullionbilly can you keep me updated. Thanks

Added a mix bag of half sovs. Shame about the red oxidisation on a couple, might take the pair to be cleaned ultrasonically
