Someone's going to be really disappointed to unwrap a handful of small change, instead of the shiny gold coin they were expecting in a couple of weeks!

Mine is set so that any money earned from junk clearing & ebaying goes directly to my bullionvault account (mainly so the wife doesn't spend it on "essentials")

What a great idea! I'm in - aiming for a 1oz *something to be decided when the time comes* by the end of 2024.

I think my crystal ball is upside down, or inside out - either way, gold always drops just after I buy....

Also interesting to see the G7 gdp vs gold compared to the BRICS gdp vs gold...

Hi, and welcome. From a personal perspective - I would pick the half sov, however, this answer would probably vary from month to month, depending on which I fancied. I would ask yourself the question of what you want it for - for me, I love the feel of a 1oz silver coin, and to look at a pile of 6 x 1oz, looks nicer than 1 (relatively small) gold coin. However, for a store of value, and, most likely, ease of resale should the need arise, I'd pick the gold. Everyone recognises a sovereign, and a half sov is well within most budgets.

I love these - especially the skull & crossbones (I'm a sucker for piratey-themed silver)! They're very clean imprints for open sand casts, did they come out like that, or have you had to clean them up after pouring them?

I'm not sure I can write that many treasure hunt clues.......

My kids have had a 1oz silver coin at the end of a treasure hunt every Christmas for years (mainly to keep them out of the way while dinner is being prepared). I usually get them (what I consider to be) a novelty coin - marvel/disney etc. They love it - and I'm safe in the knowledge it'll add to my stack at some point when the "sell" it back to me (for not much more than spot - They've not learnt about premiums yet! 🤣)

I had these beauties arrive yesterday, for the kids' Christmas treasure hunt. My dismal photos do no justice to how gorgeous these coins are! Now I need to find the funds for the full set for myself!
