I would be really interested to know how sales are going at dealers - particularly the ratio of people selling versus buying.

Given lower premiums I am guessing sales at these prices have slowed - but that’s just a guess.

Does anyone have any thoughts / info on this?

I’ve noticed atkinsons are buying under spot. Not long ago they were offering 1% over spot - i know cause i sold some!

i guess they need to buy below spot due to the premiums being low at the moment. I think they will have a lot of stock from people taking profits.

premiums are an interesting thing to keep an eye on as it’s suprising how much of a difference there can be during different periods

Are you saying get out now?

Not necessarily right now - but only a fool thinks the ATH is the lowest price we will ever see again.

And you’ll have cash worth less and less everyday due to inflation and gold still rising and rising if it was me keep holding they’ll only rise and it’s better for your pocket long term.

Who said I’ll be putting the money in cash?

    I’ll take all @ £222.. where do I send the money?☺️

He will only be in fiat for a hot minute then back into purchasing the shiny yellow stuff(gold or gold watches..😉)

I will still own a fair bit of gold but makes sense to take some profits and re balance the portfolio

    I don’t get that either.

Buy Sovs at £222 sell them for £400 and with the money buy more Sovs at £400?

If you never plan to take profit might aswel buy chocolate coins. 80% profit sounds good to me

He hopes to sell his cheaply bought sovs for £400 and buy them back much cheaper! I.e. £222 😊

Correct £222 is dreaming but to think we will never see a sovereign below £400 again after a few days at these dizzying heights would be wrong in my opinion.

When golds doing well people act like it goes up in a perfect straight line. It’s cyclical like everything else. So yes the ATH price is the best day in human history to sell some. Not saying this bull run is over by any stretch i think it’s getting started but i will be cashing some out at some point - hopefully it goes a lot higher before it goes lower

I firmly believe many small business owners feel the same as me. We may be small but with a typical VAT +Corp tax + employee tax payouts of 100k+ per year (multiplied by millions of business owners) - followed by less jobs available since we are closing down - means the UK is even more doomed. We are (were) the backbone of the economy (around half the jobs I believe).

And to think it was a CONSERVATIVE gov that pushed us out is the most baffling part of it all!

    100% this.

    Has gold hit £1700 yet

Good for a stacker with generic bullion sovs but from what ive seen on here most items for sale are special editions or rarities. I hope it wouldnt come to it that that would be an option for these type of Sovs

Yeah i guess thats why i stack the bullion - i agree there is other coins i would 100% not want to sell for spot, but to me It makes sense to have a generic portion of your stack you can sell and replace easily

This is where somewhere like Atkinsons is good. I don’t trust posting anything so i will drive to their secure unit and sell some sovereigns etc. yes i could get maybe £5 more per sov on the forum but the peace of mind is worth it, not to mention its one transaction not several. Plus proof of sale if it’s a large amount can come in handy if you need to prove where the funds have come from.

I know this is off topic but i just sold 20 sovs to a pawn shop i deal with on occasion.

Very simple easy transaction in person, got paid bang on spot which i cant argue with and the money was in my account before i left the building.
