Interesting to have these strategies/preferences if you can afford them, and you obviously can, but I suspect most TSF members are less ambitious. 

I’ve often referred to ‘plastic coffins’ myself, only because I don’t do grading and prefer to keep proofs in their original capsules.
My ‘core’ bullion is split between sovereigns and 1oz gold, but 1/4 size proofs I find more enjoyable to collect now. Over the years I’ve collected almost everything, like betting on every runner in a horse race perhaps, but not for money!

As I’m already retired, my gold doesn’t figure in funding my lifestyle, just possessing it is my real attachment. I guess we are all different…..👍
 
 

 

I've got plenty in my core bullion stack, I've no real emotional attachment to 
I now like larger/ heavy piece 5sov or 2oz gold in PF70 plastic coffins as a treat a few times a year. Quite happy to keep doing this now ongoing, buying quality over quantity
it will hopefully pay off well in retirement out pacing melt/spot appreciation

Starting in 2015, BTN coins of Germany commissioned a set of 16 world famous silver ounces. Each coin was embossed with a 24k gold 'W16' privy mark. There were limited edition sets for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The set includes famous 1 oz coins from around the world, including the Britannia.

I got this graded last year which I purchased from you. Annoyingly they took it out of the packaging when told not to & assigned it a PF63UCAM. I had a whinge which it then came back a Brilliant Proof which I think was the 1st to be described as such. I have just aquired another of the same coin but I will be keeping that in the packaging for grading.
 

I think it's a blatant misdescription to call it a handwritten signature when it clearly isn't.  It's a copy of a handwritten signature.

Is just the sad fact that most of the market for these coins has died.  The US had a lukewarm reception for a series of “greatest generation “ coins.  The youngest of this group is nearly 100 and the nostalgia and memories are fading.
The history is important, but maybe not old enough to fall into classic collector territory.

I came home once and told my wife that I’d spent £100 on socks. She told me I was mad. But the £100 was a deposit on my new car with its registration including the letters SO**KS.

I play the GSR personally instead of looking at price. I like to work on quantity stacking for now in the accumulation phase.
I'd say investing in PM's and personal goals depend on age and which stage of life you're at so it's relative for everybody.
