    Here's my opinion.
Reach out to @BackyardBullion on here by private message.
He will charge a fee and act as a intermediary, he will test the coins ( safely) and give buyers reassurance they are getting the geniune article.
He will give you reassurance that you will get paid ( he won't post anything until you personally tell him that money has been received.
You are likely ( even after deduction of his relatively small fee)you are going to end up with approx £1k upwards more money.
Can you walk away from such an amount? Or is time more important? If the latter then go dealer route, but pick the closest reputable dealer beside you,and this is a driving job ( you take everything in person) so it can be completed quickly.

These were issued in two different sizes, and also in silver and copper. This is the large, 55mm, gold version. From memory I think the copper version was only made in th large size, making 5 different variations.

This example has a few red spots, and a slight edge knock.
I think it beats anything the Royal Mint produced in 2012 for Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee.

I happen to like older, non-English coins of the British Isles, incuding Scotland, Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
I don't get to see enough of them.
Here is an example of a Manx penny:

The main "device" is variously known as a triskeles, triune, triskelion, three legs of Mann, or ny tree cassyn.
The Latin legend reads Lettering: QUOCUNQUE·JECERIS·STABIT· meaning wherever you throw me, I stand, or as Elton John might have said "I'm Still Standing".
Similar three legged symbols have apppeared in ancient times, including on ancient Greek coins.
    According to Manx National Heritage:
"The famous Three Legs of Mann appear to have been adopted in the Thirteenth Century as the royal coat of arms for three kings of the Isle of Man whose realm at the time also included the Hebrides in the Western Isles of Scotland.
The emblem was retained when control of the Island passed permanently to the English Crown. One of the earliest remaining depictions of the emblem is on the Manx Sword of State thought to have been made in 1300A.D. The Three Legs of Mann symbol also appeared on Manx coins from the 17th Century.
It is not known for sure why the emblem was adopted by the 13th Century kings but it may just have been that it was striking and distinctive.
The history of the Three Legs of Mann goes as far back as Pagan times and was originally a symbol of the sun and of power and life.
It has also been suggested that the Manx Three legs symbol may have been an adaptation of the “triskele” which appeared on coins of the 10th Century Norse King Analaf Cuaran whose dominion included Dublin and the Isle of Man.
Folk tales suggest a link with Manannan, the Celtic Sea God but there is no early evidence of this.
All the early examples of the Manx “Legs” show them running clockwise towards the sun.
The Three Legs of Mann motto has been associated with the symbol since about 1300 A.D. “Quocunque Jeceris Stabit”  literally translates to “Whithersoever you throw it, it will stand.”"

A crowned AD monogram, with the date 1758 below.
There is no mark of value, and I am not sure whether this is a coin or a token.
It is about 31 mms diameter, and weighs about 8.5 grams.
Most sources state it to be a penny, and Numista mentions "James Murray", and also describes the crown as a "ducal coronet".
James Murray was the second Duke of Atholl.

I often get to see bags of interesting numismatic material which I can't instantly identify. Actually that's probably what makes them interesting. It also makes them educational. Here is one such piece:

    Obverse with Madonna and Child.
    PATRONA  VNGARIE
    KB at sides.

Date 1550 or 1556 at top.
    FERDINAND. D.G. R. VNG
Hapsburg coat of arms in shield.

Although this looks like a silver Denar, the alloy analysis shows it to be mainly copper, so it is either a very debased issue, or much more likely a counterfeit, probably contemporary.
Its copper content is about 99%, with traces of silver, germanium, lead.
A genuine example should have a silver content of about 90%.
Any comments, additional information, or opinions welcome.

    Hello guys and gals
So today I made my first piece of gold.
I have alot of 9k gold that my mum left me so before it goes off to the jewelers later today to be sold I figured I'd take a little and make something. The shells in silver have been so popular and so I figured this was as a good starting point for my Gold adventure. ( Also my Mum loved shells so sentimental as well) I won't be selling any currently as the hallmarking on 1 piece is to expensive and I'm not rich enough to be sending loads. Also I feel pieces this big just won't sell very easily. With a weight of 14g I'm truly in love with this

    Howdy all!
We have an exciting new project that I am happy to formally announce in partnership with some incredibly talented UK Silver Pourers .
@StBeesSilver @RiverbankSilver @SilverAngel @LiquidMetalsUK @AtomicSilver @GeordieStacker and myself are going to be creating a collaboration Silver Bar to raffle off to raise funds for The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. @ChrisSilver Has approved this to be managed and run via The Silver Forum, a big thanks for that!
We are looking at adding additional UK pourers too - any new confirmations will be shared out here on this thread in due course.
The Red Cross Appeal is a very worthy cause right now and one that will bring a lot of much needed aid to a lot of people.
    https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal
Check them out and please feel free to donate outside of this raffle too!
Now, we are working out all of the particulars and this thread serves as STAGE 1
    STAGE 1 - Adding Weight - 1 week
Each UK Silver Pourer is donating 1 ozt of silver but we are open for anyone else to donate additional oz's of silver to make more bars and bigger bars.
The plan is to get up to 50 ozt (this is a decent weight to be posting in one go around the country) and have 5 or 6 bars of 8 to 10 ozt each.
So, if you would like to donate an oz of silver then you can do so one of two ways:
    1) Please DM me (Backyard Bullion) and I will give you my PO Box address where you can physically send your silver. 999 fine silver only please and preferably coin form
Option 1 is only available to UK based members.
    2) Purchase an ozt of silver directly from me to be added to the pot. I will be sourcing silver coins from the forum to add these to the pot, a good guide right now is about £23 per oz.
Option 2 will be best for NON UK members to donate silver - no long shipping or Import tax issues.
At the end of Sunday 20th March I will know how much Silver we are working with and I can pour some big boy bars for us all to stamp!
    STAGE 2 - Hallmarking - 1 Week
We plan to have a big feature laser hallmark applied to these bars. As big as we can get that fits well and shows off the wonders of UK Hallmarking
    STAGE 3 - Stamping - 1 to 2 Weeks
After Hallmarking is done we can all add our logos and stamping flavour to the bar(s).
We have 6 pourers confirmed right now, that might increase so getting it posted around the country might take a week or two.
    STAGE 4 - Raffle
The exact date of the raffle closing and draw will depend somewhat on the timescales from the above.
We plan to have tickets cost £5 each with as many entries as you like per person. Entries will be payable to me (Backyard Bullion) with ALL proceeds going to the Red Cross Appeal after the raffle closes.
Multiple bars means multiple winners so the more silver we can raise in week 1 the better.
MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW IN DUE COURSE
This is all an evolving project plan but because of the time it will take to get these bars made we wanted to start the ball rolling right now.
I will be sharing more information about the raffle tickets in due course.
What YOU need to do right now
If you would like to get involved by donating an ozt of silver (or more that one single oz!) please let us all know by sharing here or DM'ing me for details of how to donate or send silver.
