Technology is certainly a 2-edge sword. Great for so many things. But...... for all the good things there are corresponding bad ones. Re mobiles, I am personally sick to death of hearing other people's conversations - no respect for privacy... I don't want or need to hear about the ins and outs of peoples lives, what they did last night, how the house purchase/divorce/holiday plans are going etc. To my way of thinking, a conversation on a mobile is still a private communication between two people and not for the world to hear about. How often do you see people in the supermarket ringing wife/husband/partner..... do we need such and such. Surely they have some idea of what they are going to buy when they leave the house. As for people walking down the street glued to their mobiles... don't get me started!
Yes, they are wonderful in so many ways but by the looks of the general population who seem to be glued to mobiles, I despair. Totally absorbed without a clue of the real life around them. Fed a lot of ******** by large social media organisations. No wonder the country has gone downhill. Many cannot think for themselves and have to follow the crowd - rather pathetic in my opinion.
However, they do allow us to access some much information that we would previously not had access to. And communicate with people across the globe. I do wonder what will happen if all signals go out for some reason, satellites fail, sun spots. or some other reasons.  How will the mobile phone generation cope? They can't even read a map! Rant over.

I agree, I live under a rock tech wise and I like it that way, I even use a basic non smart mobile phone, the battery lasts 2 weeks, I wanted a Nikon microscope, I could of afforded one of the latest all singing and dancing electronic ones, but I didnt like them and had to go hunting the antique path to find what I wanted that was all mechanical and manual, I dont trust this smart tech, its invasive and not secure, and I agree its dumbing down a nation and even a world.

It's all bad imvho - analogue all the way - these 'conveniences' have only led to a complete dumbing down of the entire population if you ask me.
When I was at school we used things like rulers (I know, real antique stuff huh?) - ask a kid nowadays and if their phone or tablet doesn't have a signal they will have no idea what one of these things even is.
    Very scary.

They like neglect, abuse (verbal) hot/warm temperature (a cool conservatory is fine in winter), plenty of light, and a water once or twice a year, you could stick him in a pot and in 25 years he will have a load of mates.

There has been many articles, questioning whether the USA still holds 8000+ tons or if its now much less, no Audit in 50 years and that a lot of the gold no longer meets the LBM good delivery status .imo the feds do not want to know because as long as they maintain the belief that they hold all this gold they will remain as the world trading currency even though fiat money is no longer backed by gold holdings but I think a number of countries no longer trust the usa  in respect of the supposed gold they hold

I just submitted a request alongside Hungary demanding repatriation of my gold from the federal reserve causing a world shortage and price spike
Turkey has been the latest country to request their gold as they pulled 220 tons of gold out of the US Federal Reserve system on April 19, 2018. The countries 220 tons of gold is valued at $25.3 billion. Turkey has followed countries such as:
Germany Netherlands Austria Belgium Russia China Azerbaijan Got to a be a reason all these countries are clambering to get their gold back asap.
