for sale 2017 STOD Sovereign PF70

I would buy both of these asap. But in America, especially in the Boston area, there is no interest in these in the event I would need to sell them for quick cash. I would only get close to spot for them. I wish it were different around here. I really love the look of Sovereigns.

    Today I Received

I bought a $5 Indian half Eagle on eBay from Apmex when they were having a sale plus 10% eBay bucks. I was not happy with the condition and didn't believe it was XF as advertised. I emailed them and sent it back. I think I got a great one in return. I think it is in gradable condition. Any thoughts?
  3. I've noticed that both Liberty Coin (on eBay) and Apmex (on website) have the same exact items for sale. Is this normal? https://www.apmex.com/product/168848/1911-d-2-50-indian-gold-quarter-eagle-ms-66-pcgs-strong-d https://www.ebay.com/itm/1911-D-US-Gold-2-50-Indian-Head-Quarter-Eagle-PCGS-MS66-/401562314135?hash=item5d7efaa597

    Gold Libertad release???

I just started buying gold this year. Does anyone know when Mexico generally releases their gold Libertads for the current year?

Do you buy new or secondhand gold?

I would first go around to local coin shops and see what they will buy from you at the best price. I live in Boston and started buying 1/4 oz Queens Beasts only to find out that if I wanted to sell them locally I wouldn't get nearly as much for them as I would for 1/4 oz American Eagles or pre-33 American gold, simply because it would be harder for the local shops to sell QB's than American coins. For some it isn't an issue because they don't plan on selling them, but you never know what could come up and you need cash immediately and can't wait for the best price on eBay or from Apmex. I still plan on completing the 1/4oz QB set because it is only a small part of my gold stack. But I wish I had done my research first.

    Today I bought.....

I just picked up a $5 Indian Head half Eagle XF that was on sale on Apmex eBay for $388 and an 8 gram gold Panda (not sealed) random year (2016-2018) from Apmex on ebay that wasn't on sale for $373. Both were eligible for the 10% eBay bucks. This is my first Indian half eagle and first panda. I always wanted the Indian half but prices were always over $400, even for a "cleaned" example. So to be able to get one for about $350 for an XF example, I just couldn't pass it up. As for the Panda, I know everyone says to buy them in the mint seal, but with the eBay bucks I got this one for spot price.

Which QB 1/4 oz to pick up?

Definitely go with the oldest first. I started collecting them this year. I have the first 4 but not the Black Bull. I figured I'd wait for a sale on it. It just came out this year so there isn't any hurry to get it. QB are going for $363 - $400 in the US on eBay.
  8. I have four 1/4oz Queens Beasts for trade. Lion, Griffin, Dragon and Unicorn. I would like to trade for a 1oz gold coin. Unfortunately around where I live dealers are not familiar with the Queens beasts series. I was told that if I had 1/4oz American Eagles that he would do a straight up trade. Which is what I would like to do. I am not sure what I want for a coin, so please make any offers. For the right coin like a Libertad or a proof Buffalo, I would be willing to add cash on my end. Thanks for looking.
  9. I new to all this. From what I've seen the Royal Mint makes great proof coins but the three 1/4oz Queen's Beasts bullion ones that I have purchased so far all have marks on the Queen's face. I don't know whether to continue to collect the regular bullion ones or sell those and focus on a different series. If I do decide to sell these, I would probably focus on 1oz bullion coins with low premiums but designs that I like. I really like the South Korea coins when on sale or with eBay bucks.
  10. Too late now. Lol
  11. Thanks for all the feedback. I just received it today and I'm am very impressed with the quality and presentation. I think it was overpriced too but my wife loves the Royal family. I'm more into something that I like for very close to spot.
  12. I just ordered 2018 Great Britain Proof 1/4 oz Gold Four Generations coin from Apmex. I am new to coins and metals in general. Would it be worth getting this graded since it has a mintage of 1100? https://www.apmex.com/product/162456/2018-great-britain-prf-1-4-oz-gold-four-generations Thanks
