  1. Finally have some time to post these recent additions. A stunning 2021 The Queen's Beasts Completer Five-Ounce Silver Proof! This size really accentuates the detail of the Queen’s Beasts designs from across the last five years. And a couple of other Silver proofs from The Royal Mint... Quite the intriguing design of the 2021 Alfred the Great £5 Silver Proof. And also, an homage to “getting into mischief” with the 2021 Peter Rabbit™ One Ounce Silver Proof. Oh, yeah, there was another, 2021 The Queen's Beasts Completer Silver Proof, this one in 1 oz. Still, comparatively, the 5 oz is the one! And not silver, but liking the size of a good St. George and the Dragon, a George VI adding a 1951 George VI Crown.

  9. Andrew, In April 2020, 240,000 Silver Eagles were minted in Philadelphia while operations were temporarily suspended at the West Point Mint due to the coronavirus pandemic, making this the second rarest bullion issue Silver Eagle in the series' 34 year history. With a mintage of only 240,000, the 2020 Philadelphia Silver Eagle is among the rarest bullion issue Silver Eagles, second only to the 2015 Philadelphia issue. Silver Eagles were produced at the Philadelphia Mint between April 8th and April 20th, 2020, as a result of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on operations at the West Point Mint, where Silver Eagles are typically produced. This marks the first time since 2017 that Silver Eagles were made outside of West Point, and the second smallest production of bullion Silver Eagles since 1986. With a mintage of only 240,000, these Silver Eagles are among the rarest Silver Eagles available, with less than 7% of the mintage of the key date 1996 coin. With respect to PCGS graded coins for 2020-P Emergency Issue, there were First Strike, First Day of Issue, and Early Release...NGC looks to be similar with the 2020 (P) Emergency Production. I am sure there is some distinction between those three strike nuances over 13 days of mintage, but I am typically dumbfounded by what that may be.
  10. From one CAPT to another Captin, Welcome aboard The Silver Forum!
  11. I must admit, I quite like the extensive history and diverse varieties of the Gold Sovereign. Having acquired a great breadth of Sovereigns from 1817 to present, with almost all examples of the obverse effigies. The references and documentation abound can send one into trying to research all the details, and barely scratch the surface, which comes with time and experience on collecting the Gold Sovereign. The perspectives are even more annunciated with the Gold Sovereign having been an everyday fiat-like coin, a collectors coin, a gold stackers coin, and a concealable gold piece to be used in a time of war for escape and evasion. That is what I find intriguing in the Gold Sovereign...and I’m from the US!

  14. James, I think you will enjoy...the 10 oz would have been most desirable, but alas.
  15. Two 2021 Niue 1 oz Silver Mandalorian Beskar Bars. Was five, but sold three before posting.
  16. Are you telling me I could have waited patiently for your compilation in this excellent knowledge base vice buying years long subscription to Coin News?!?! Which by the way, was the principle driver for getting a subscription, no matter how many months delays it would take to get my copy!😆
  17. I would say that maintaining a pulse from The Silver Forum postings should give you adequate indications and warnings of new releases with, on occasion, a little bit of inside hints to the release. I use TSF for such assistance in seeing our knowledgeable members providing a heads up. From this, one can do further corroboration on The Royal Mint’s site and any videos they may post on YouTube. I think there is a motto out there...Who Dares Wins.
  18. Yeah, a couple of limfacs at play with that scenario...premium bonds definitely safer.

  20. Could go work for a PMC for a couple of years in most undesirable locations...paid room and board with nothing to spend your hard earned hazardous duty pay on, bank over £100K over that time and start life anew when you’ve achieved your goal. Not career or financial advice, just some out of the box thoughts, because we know what’s in the box. Meant to mention, I am really proud of you, @watchesandwhisky, and the direction you are looking at with your stabile income, plans for the future and overall physical and mental preparedness seen over the last few months!!
