I believe all the gold on earth was made due to a star supanova and then all the dust particles forming into planets 🪐  etc.
It can be made but in very small amounts and at high cost per milligram.
A weird but nice feeling when you wear part of a dead star on your finger 💍

I inherited a large, heavy hammered silver pitcher, 6 short cups and 6 tall goblets, all with the same mark on the obverse side, which is shown below. The individual who originally purchased these items lived in OK, ARK, NY., Caracus, Venezuela and the Azores, if that is of any help. They were most likely purchased between 1925-1945, but do not know from where they were purchased.
Any guidance or information concerning the mark on these items and values of items will be much appreciated.

    Hi all
I wondered if anyone else here collects Sovereign weights?
I have been collecting for a little while and have not only a number of variants of 1 and half sovereign weights but also some larger (10,50 and 100) sovereign weights.
If anyone can suggest a book that covers this facet of collecting it would be great to hear from you!

Brilliant Uncirculated coins don't have a true frosted finish...

As per the attached video from the RM.
Thats correct as when i have had a 2014 proof sovereign next to one you can tell that its not as frosty but ngc must struggle to see the difference as they did the same with the 2017 sotd sovereign calling that a proof at first

They are brilliant uncirculated coins with the frosting on one side only (As the royal mint intended them to be) I have sent more than one of these coins for grading and they always come back as PF coins

They are not error coins. They are the brilliant uncirculated coins miss graded by ngc and pcgs. I have the 2014 double brilliant uncirculated sovereign coin with the frosting on the st gorge side only and i sent it to numistacker for grading and he had to return it back to them 3 or 4 times as they kept putting it down as a pf70 instead of ms70 i have the coa that says its a brilliant uncirculated coin but ngc have it down as a proof. Send a 2014 brilliant uncirculated sovereign to ngc and it will come back as a pf not a ms coin

Gordon reacted to LawrenceChard in 2022 Billion Sovereign
A Chards customer just sent us part of an e-mail response they received from the Royal Mint, about the design of the "billion" sovereign being the same as the proof version.
    We assume they meant "bullion"!

Looks like we need to create a "billion sovereign" image.
I wonder what the issue limit will be.
    😎
    The text was:
    "Good morning,
I can confirm that both Proof and Billion will have the same design".
    Kind Regards,
    Allyson

    Edit 22nd November 2021:
This mornng I received a further e-mail, from a Royal Mint source which included this rather ambiguous and confusing content:
"The bullion sovereign launching in January has been the same for many years and been different to the numismatic version. The emailer confirming this launch should be out today... The coin is beautiful!"
This appears to contradict the information given recently that the bullion and proof designs would have the same designs.
It is possible that this latest e-mail is intended to mean that the release dates are different, but all should become clearer very soon.

Doorstops are a great, and under-rated use for silver bars, although if you had 5 x one kilo bars, you would have 5 doostops instead of 1.
We used to have a customer who had a 400 ounce London Good Delivery gold bar which he used as a doorstop. Very exclusive!

The 3D is hard to really capture via stills, but the depth of detail is incredible. The Mint of Poland always seems to go just that tiny bit further, in my experience.
