I was thinking about selling 10/15% of my gold, but then what would I do with them money? Keep it and buy more when the price goes down, nice holiday or but yet another guitar (which I'm selling at the moment. Anyone want a nicely priced guitar? 😁).

    Ideas?

Probably beyond my budget ATM but would love to see your work, could you possibly pop a thread in the non precious metals section?

    Not really..

Stocks are generally accepted to be entering the 11th year of the longest bull market in recorded history, and yet for UK investors they have lagged the "barbarous relic" over 1,3,5 & 20 year timeframes.

PMs have historically proven themselves worthy of of consideration as viable investments but most investors just can't get over the fact they "have no cashflow"

Ok, but if we're talking just GBP and uk stocks, they've been utterly butt-****ed for the last three years by the B-word and it's not a binary choice between UK stocks and PMs, most of my portfolio is in other markets, which are still doing relatively well.

Yes but the current climate is, how shall we say, something of a very ripe cherry to pick when doing comparisons.

What a classy looking "coin" - (I guess it has a legal value);  although Britannia has certainly improved her looks recently - she looks a bit worn out here which I can only put down to the French who were up to their usual tricks at the time.

It probably would have had value specifically with the Bank of England but probably wouldn't have been legal tender (I suspect, not a specialist). Damn interesting piece though :)
