Hard to tell if it's 103 or 105.
I'm sure I hear now and again of a die number that doesn't seem to be documented.

There are a lot of die numbers for this year and there will be many not seen yet. Are you sure your one is not 105?
@dicker is compiling a list of all known half sovereign die numbers so he will likely know

Can't see silver as an 'investment', almost all of what I've bought is underwater and will probably continue to be for quite some time if I were to sell to dealers. They buy well below spot😅
I buy silver because I feel it is severely undervalued. I hope it will be revalued during my lifetime, but can't guarantee even that. It has been deeply undervalued for decades though, so my hopes are not high. I regard it as a speculative aquisition. A punt.
I would only sell through the forum of course..

I bought this cracking little half sov from a well known dealer here on the Forum earlier this year.
I graded it and both the seller and I were surprised that it came back from NGC as AU58; it should be higher as a MS holder in our views but there you go. I’ve decided not to re-submit it and I’m now moving it on from my collection.
I’m asking £1350 +post which is the same price I paid for it raw so the grading & photovision pics effectively come in for free.
Any queries please PM, many thanks.

I always try and bring something different to the forum, got to be better than a coin knocked out by big fat Dave in quality control at the royal mint last week, full of DNA on your proof
Here is a stunning  1068-1071 AD Byzantine AV Histamenon Nomisma  Romanus IV Christ graded NGC AU which may have been in the loin cloth of the emperor during battle
High grade AU strike and surface 4/5 for a hammered coin of its age
Lustrous, well centred 1,000 years old of history stunning coin and minted in Constantinople
£700 posted SD any questions any offers or exchanges  please let me know
    4.31g of gold high purity
Open to exchanges try me also got a watch and in non pms if someone wants to be creative on a deal
Kilo silver, Vic shield backs, world gold, nudes anything considered
A coin like this to grade is around 80 quid or so, and try and find one that hasn't been cleaned in the past  1,000 years or in poor condition, heavily circulated with no detail
How many are left ? Who knows ?
And before some helmet offers me spot the answer is no, this is not a star wars or marvel coin
Bit of history to the coin for those that can be arsed reading ! 😂
1068-1071 East Roman (Byzantine) AV Histomenon Nomisma coin
Issued under the rule of Romanus IV Diogenes, Emperor of the Byzantine Empire
During his reign he was determined to halt the decline of the Byzantine military and to stop Turkish incursions into the Byzantine Empire, but in 1071 he was captured and his army routed at the Battle of Manzikert
While still captive he was overthrown in a palace coup, and when released he was quickly defeated and detained by members of the Doukas family; in 1072, he was blinded and sent to a monastery, where he died of his wounds
Obverse features Emperors Constantine, Michael and Andronikos
Reverse depicts Emperor Romanus and Empress Eudocia on either side of Jesus Christ
Numista rarity of - 91 not because the coin is from the isle of Lesbos featuring prince Philip but because it is genuinely a rare ancient coin and deserves to fetch a reasonable price
No lube was used in this listing however inevitably this will change, I'm puckering up now

1/4 oz and Sovereigns are the size I go for... thinking more long term for selling one or two at a time for a price within reach of a larger audience. Plus, if all goes to plan then it’ll be my kids problem and full oz’s or 100g bars could be a nightmare for them to shift on.

We are a funny bunch us stackers.
We were still moaning and groaning spot should be so much higher when it was £800z not so many years back
Why weren't we selling the family silver to stock up on gold if we knew it was going to double in next 6-7 years
Now I'm a good decade and half into this stacking experiment I now come to realise most folk are only ever on "now o'clock"
I will still be buying, these prices now as just "the new normal" ultimately, I'm converting depreciating fiat into gold
net results, i will have an increased holding of gold. than I did last month
Spot can do what it likes, it will only be relevant when it comes to time I choose to cash out in my twilight years, in 20+ years time
If the steady uptrend in gold continues & unlimited fiat printed funny money printed we should be around the £10,000oz by then  (hopefully)

There are folks who might want to trade such things, but they're a different market from the folks stacking it for silver weight.
Pre-1920 crowns or half crowns in good condition tend to go for a fairly hefty premium, and the older the more expensive.  So, it depends what you want.  Are you after weight in silver, or do you want some nice coins.  You will have to be specific about what you want and what you're willing to pay.
