When I started my stacking addiction I read lots of reports, listened to podcasts, followed the "experts", looked at the charts etc. etc.
Turns out most of this was B.S. and this is especially so when people look around for reasons to explain very short term PM trends up and also down.
When gold is high the sellers advice is to buy more because it will rise in value.
When gold falls the same sellers will advise this is a great time to buy more to take advantage of a lower price.
I have never seen these people advise to sell because the metal will likely decline in value.
No-one can predict this and hindsight is wonderful for writing blogs and trying to look smart and informed.
If you search around you can always find a geo-political or fiscal event somewhere so just fit that - many will believe this.
It probably doesn't have anything to do with the fluctuations of gold and silver.
The "big greedy bankers" trading using "algorithms" make the markets fluctuate and these folks make money either way, up or down i.e. the first derivative in calculus is good for making fast bucks.
The same holds for trading Forex and stocks & shares.

That's my thinking anyhow but others may disagree.

Holding PMs is a diversification to fiat and is more likely to maintain wealth rather than grow it in terms of purchasing power, whereas fiat loses value daily due to quantitive easing and inflation.

1984 Olympic silver dollars, these came in a set of three P,D,S Philadelphia, Sanfrancisco & Denver mints. Each coin has the respective die mark.

I'm a numismatist, I collect coins. I'm not bothered about them going up in value every year. I simply enjoy them for what they are. Many of my coins have premiums in excess of the bullion value. When bullion does make big moves though it makes it harder to purchase dates/types that I'm still after as they tend to rise in value as well.

I got a Brexit Brit with a colourised shield back in 2017.
Paid a premium for it but reckon it would only sell for bullion.
Only worth collecting but not worth stacking.

George IV (1820-30) Crown, 1821, laureate head left, rev. St. George slaying dragon, date below, edge SECUNDO, (S.3805, ESC.2310). Trivial edge knock at one o'clock, grey tone and extremely fine.

I've posted these photos before, but here are some of my favourite UK predecimal coin designs (florins and halfcrowns, and then some early milled shillings) .  I think the various George IV and William IV halfcrown designs are well worth adding to your list above 🙂

I love all circulated silver coins. All of them has plenty of stories to tell. They seen the previous times, participated active at history, been in dirty hands or in silver purses, seen live the high life and the povetry, been exchanged or stolen, kept in pockets or between tits, paid for food, drinks, goods or guilty pleasures.... Just I can't stop collecting them!
The modern BU coins .999 are only pieces of cold metal, no tales to tell from tubes.
