Probably true but it will go back down at some point soon. A bit of volatility is exciting for the guys here and this gives an opportunity for some profit taking if you have the nerve to do it🤔

sovereignsteve reacted to BackyardBullion in Post office Workers (sometimes) take advantage of poor and vulnerable
Most post office workers are good, but there are definitely some bad eggs out there.
I was in a post office that is not my usual one and an older gentleman went up before me to the counter.
He had a small, thin jiffy bag to post.
He asked to send it by the cheapest method possible.
The post office worker then asked, "For security reasons I need to know what is inside". To which he replied, "A charm bracelet for my granddaughter".
The post office worker jumped on this opportunity to say, "You will have to send it special delivery as it is jewellery, that will be £7.65 please" The old man looked a bit taken aback and then started rummaging around in his pockets for the cash. I heard him say, "the bracelet only cost me £3 at a charity shop".
I really wanted to step forward and say something, but I decided not to make a fuss. Maybe I should have done.
This is not the first time I have seen this behaviour and it really makes me quite sad. The people that don't push back don't know any better and just get taken advantage of unfortunately.

sovereignsteve got a reaction from stackerp5 in Investigation into Historic Coin Pricing by The Royal Mint
This thread is specifically about the RM's pricing of historical coins and yes, I've never ever seen a single offering that hasn't been grossly over priced.
Their "special" sets especially, frequently come on to the market and, looking at the auction hammer prices, you know the original buyer or their estate has made a massive loss. The only thing you can say in their defense is the buyers are getting a guarantee of authenticity. Well, one would hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised......😎
This, coupled with the name is the reason these guilible people are buying. It's like anything in the collectable arena, knowledge is king and Caveat Emptor.

sovereignsteve got a reaction from Orpster in Do we buy the coin or the grade?
I would agree with all those gradings , which is a miracle for me and NGC, except the 1872 which I think is a tad overgraded at 64, better at 63
