Yeah precisely. I read that the US government replaced beef with chicken in stats some time back, obviously rigged.
A lot of the time its the governments or people in charge of the sectors that don't want to look bad.
After all its their job to do their best, so even on smaller scales (like a work place or even at school)
its human nature to dress up a bad situation or 'manipulate' it a bit to thier favour.

But looking at some of the public this year and just the reactionary nature of them (including most my own family)
I can why they would need to herd them in the right direction at times,
especially if they are conditioned not to question authority from birth.

When my dad speaks its literally word for word what the BBC or daily mail has told him how to think.
Present a plausible, 100% factual & well educated opinion against it and your a immediately a conspiracy theorist.

the "groomed" figures we are given by the "Government" are constantly manipulated to their favour -

    Update:
We did see a small sales spike mainly late in the weekend, but nothing crazy.
This morning we are hearing that the Royal Mint are not accepting bullion orders, and premiums are being increased just about everywhere.
We have managed to cover all bullion coins sold, but who knows when we will get deliveries!
We have also increased many of our premiums on bullion items, but only by enough to cover the increased premiums we are being asked.
Currently bars have not been affected, but it could spill over to them.
Gold:Silver ratio came down to below 63, so it has halved since I was "pushing" it at 126.
    Platinum still looks cheap.

I agree with you, I said if they succeed, I don't believe they will, but they a bringing to the attention of the general public by the power of the internet what is going on in silver & PMs.
IMHO what the reddit crowd are doing will make the bullion banks think a little bit more about how they operate. Writing naked shorts IMHO is ridiculous & corrupt.

The Western Empire has been circling the drain for decades. Two world wars saw to that. Nixon coming off the gold standard was the signal things were well underway. It died in 2008. The corpse has been rotting since but the controlled media told us it was 'recovering'. There was no recovery.
A bunch of kids on Reddit are not the reason for anything other than pointing out there is something wrong when 140% of the stock in a company is sold short. There is something wrong when gold and silver are rehypothecated 100's of times. i call it fraud and criminal but the powers that should not be give it the green light.
Prepare as best can for the full fiat collapse. i expected this a few years back and like a stopped clock i am right sometimes - i suspect i'm going to be right this time.

    To short a stock:
Borrow shares from your broker, immediately sell them at the current market rate, lets say £10 share, this drives the price down (or as a PI without millions to play with you judge it when you think a share is going to tank) When the market bottoms, buy the shares back at lets say £5 a share Give the shares back to the broker, position closed. You pocket £5 a share with Gamestop:
Hedgefund took a massive short (i.e. borrowed a lot of stock and sold it), driving the price down, the share capitulates as stops are triggered etc and the share sinks even lower. Funds can hold these positions for a long time sometimes, trying to drive the price even lower before they close. (destroying PI's, companies, pension funds etc on the way) Reddit guys decided to go on a massive buy run, pushing the price of the share up, fast and so far past the entry point (sell point) of the hedge fund that they exceeded the value of the entire hedge fund at $13.1bn at one point. The hedge fund hung on hoping the the price would crash again, it didn't Hedgefund eventually gave up it's position and started buying the stock back to give back to the broker, pushing the share price up even further. With silver ( or gold or btc for that matter)
as discussed in this thread, some of the large funds, banks etc have held PM back for a longtime by selling heavy (going short) for many reasons (and lots of other dirty tricks), assuming you take the position PM should have gone up a lot more than it has for many reasons. There's a big pump going on now all over social media to try and push silver to the point that these big funds need to start buying the silver back as it would cross the point they loaned it and sold it at, as was the case with GameStop. who knows, it may happen, only takes for one big fund to get shaky, especially after what happened this past week and start closing their position and this then increase the price and causes more to close (buy) so on and so forth - its very much the opposite of what the financial institutions have been doing to PI's for years.  I might not have all the details totally right, but this it a basics of it...

if you have ANY interest bearing debts (bar mortgage) pay it down, until you pay it off. snowball it by paying off the largest APR interests first
get at least six months worth of wages set aside first for your rainy day/contingency fund.
The "free money/help" could end. Rely on yourself not bid daddy GovernMint to help you, also consider having a stockpile of emergency food for this next year, things may turn sketchy at a moments notice
If you'll be 90% invested in PM with one more purchase it will only take like your boiler packing in, roof leaking or car fault to have you to be forced to cash in your gold to pay your bills.
Precious metals can come to you with time

As last year, I am posting my full 1967 collection as it was in the end of 2020. First part has anything except the slabs. These will follow in the next couple of days, as I don't have everything in one place. So here we have coin and medal sets, large medals, coin envelopes and all the bits and pieces.

RAM 2015 Silver Proof Giant Sloth Roo   First published c1795 in George Barrington’s  "A Voyage to Botany Bay",  Vincent Woodthorpe’s hand-coloured engraving accompanied the description of kangaroos as ‘about the size of a common deer' was presented to a readership in no position to argue. The image proffers a masterclass in deception, unless one is to believe that common deer were at that time the size of trees and that kangaroo twins are not actually almost completely unheard of.    Reminding me of a schoolbook portrayal of the Giant Sloth, I must confess to  being totally besotted with this quite absurd numismatic offering, one which certainly deserves its place alongside the 2013 Tyrannosaurus Roo in the Skippy Hall of Fame.   In terms of mintages, only 3.098 of the maximum were produced, the only one of the "First Sightings" triumvirate not to sell out. Not an easy fellow to source, this gem arrived from Italy and was my penultimate VAT-free EU purchase.   A magnificent coin.   -Ends

I wasn’t quite sure where to go next after my initial foray into historic sets and to follow on from my purchase of the 1902 Edward VII Matte Proof Set.
Decided on this beautifully preserved 1911 George V Proof Coronation Set- a tiny 952 10 Coin ‘short’ sets were issued.

Once again, thank you to @Elements @Roy & @SilverMike who helped me decide 😀

2008 RAM 1oz Silver Proof " Reg Mombassa" Kangaroo   Struck by the Royal Australian Mint, this was the second in the highly successful "Artists" series of 2007-09.   "Well-known" and "legendary" Reg Mombassa has been best known in Australia for a multitude of art works and styles as well as music. His art work has graced the Mambo Graphics clothing series, music recording covers, books, calendars and  he has even had the honour of painting one of Melbourne's historic trams. Reg was also extremely famous for his musical skills as co-founder and guitarist in the band Mental As Anything.    Oh, really? Personally I had never heard of him prior to this coin and have had zero intention of ever learning anything more, even based on this alluring CV.   "Shining through on this coin is Reg's typical Aussie larikin sense of humour for which he is so well known." Righty-ho, thanks for clearing that up. All well and good if you're an Ozzie, but a load of irrelevant tosh if you're not.   Regardless of the sycophantic gushings of the RAM, I really like this rather endearing fellow and it proved to be extremely popular with collectors too, the full mintage of 7,500 selling out very swiftly. Of all the proof Skippies. this version has proved the best "investment" and is still highly sought after - as, indeed, are the both its FrUnc and gilded counterparts.   Huge thanks to @CadmiumGreenfor his invaluable assistance in delivering this.
