    Gold:
All different Sovs, including SotD, Proof etc.
    Quarter, half and double bullion
More slabbed sovs. Working on completing Jubilee and Veiled Head and Edward VII bullion, preferrably slabbed.
    Platinum:
Completing QB series, but not starting any new series.
    Silver:
Dunno. Compared to above, it's peanuts anyway.

Yes, but RM has quite high premiums on BU/bullion sovs already. In my observations over the past years, retail prices in Germany were markedly lower than RM, not to mention hassles with Customs. The latter seems to alleviate over time but I won't go through all of this for naked bullion sovs. The blister cards are a different matter as they are almost exclusively available at RM, unfortunately.

Word on the street is they will be available from 07/Feb up until the King's Coronation (08/May). After that we'll get another Sov.

I feel this design colour matches the current colour of sovereigns. They have never looked pink like the royal Mint's photos, and it's weird they used that colour in the photos

    Good spotting!
I had thought about the colour, but it is perhaps just their photo / artwork department improved the image colour.
I will be testing some when we get our first batch.

'The best' under which aspect? For most collectors, the full sov is the must-have. In terms of future value, I still think the full sov is the best, but the quintuple may be close.
I will try to catch a full and a half.

I believe Jody Clark too used photographs for QE II’s 5th effigy and there was never an actual “sit down” (if that’s what you were imagining).
Here’s an excerpt from the Royal Mint website:
    https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/the-queens-platinum-jubilee/the-coinage-portraits-of-her-majesty-the-queen--the-artists-stories/
“Everyone who entered the competition was supplied with the same reference material, showing The Queen facing different ways and in a number of different angles. I also did quite a lot of research online to find more natural, unposed images of her. I looked at the designs of the previous effigies and I wanted my design to work as part of that set as well as to work on its own.”

As it will already be a new design because of Charles' portrait and titles, it would probably be best to retain something familiar and traditional for the reverse.
If the RM wish to vary anything, it could be a new version of St. George and the Dragon. Perhaps they could be hugging each other, or both hugging a tree.
Of course, they could revert to using yellow gold instead of copper colour, but I fear that Anne Jessop is not listening. Perhaps we should send her a hearing aid?

Just voted for St. George and the Dragon.
I can imagine (and I would love it) that they make a one-off obverse, for the coronation year only.

Here is a 2000 bullion quintuple sovereign coin.
I bought this coin from a dealer in September 2017 and it cost me about 2% above spot price on that date.
There had been a spike in the gold price over the few days before I bought this coin so it wasn't quite as cheap as it otherwise might have been, but it only owes me about of 70% the spot price of gold today.
    It's a lovely thing.

I ordered the £5 BU graded MS70 from The Coin Connection for around £130 on top of the RRP. I think this is an interesting bet as this is the only Matte special 5 Sovereign to date with a relatively low mintage (and probably the only one that'll exist during QE reign) ,
With the 5 coins proof set, the SOTD Sovereign, The 5 Coin Pattern Piedfort Set, this £5 BU ends up beautifully my 2022 Sovereign collection (except the Piedfort I did not buy)

Somewhat off-topic, but perhaps interesting to a few of you, the range of these 20 mark gold coins gives an extraordinary glimpse into the lost world of tiny German principalities and their bearded rulers (and a few city states, notably Hamburg) before WW I. Just looked up some of the examples available on the MA-Shops. I had not even heard of Schaumburg-Lippe and I'm supposed to be a historian, but its ruler issued gold coins. Some are very, very rare e.g. one from Saxony-Meiningen (not the big Saxony) is for sale at 22,900 euros, admittedly in almost perfect condition. Each coin contained a bit less  fine gold than a sovereign.
