Now, finally, I received my 2oz silver Three Graces. It was held for more than two weeks by Royal Mail at Langley, and another day or so by the waylayers at Frankfurt airport, and over the weekend at my local post office. No time and equipment so far to check for dents or scratches, but happy that the odyssee is over...
They charged customs and an additional fee but no German VAT ☺️, so I got it cheaper than UK customers. Given the market value of the piece (no way I am selling!) this wouldn't matter anyway - but the govt is the last place I want any of my money to go to.
Another order from RM, pre-dating (!) the 3G order, is still held somewhere at Langley, waiting to 'leave the UK'.

So many members disappointed with the quality of their 3G.
I took my 3G and drilled a hole in the rim, I am now wearing it round my neck. I ain't stressing about QC , just enjoying my coin

Sorry I’m late to the party! I thought everyone went oddly quiet after the sale... and then realized the conversation was moved over to the new thread 😬
I got into the queue pretty quick and purchased a 2oz silver. My account manager (who is brilliant and I worship like a god) called me in the afternoon and managed to get me a 5oz and 2oz gold. I know, ridiculous... I’m counting my blessings.
Now I’m crossing my fingers that all arrives okay... 🤞 I don’t count my chickens until they hatch 🐣

A question I have been asking the Mint since they moved to the new website. The answer is ‘we don’t know’...

Amazing how fast the queue moved forward. At first the credit card transaction didn't work (although with a different error message than two weeks ago) but the second time it worked.

I don't own any rare sovereigns, only sought after.
If I were to pick one to own though it'll probably be a 1937.

I got one when it was first released because I thought I ought to have one. TBH I wish I hadn't bothered; I read through it on arrival, it didn't take long and I haven't looked at it since.
It's a bit of interesting info but isn't a reference book by any means.

There is not a lot of competition on the platinum coin market, so sellers get away with squeezing buyers.
That said, europeanmint is still the cheapest site I know (once they get supply, which for platinum doesn't seem to be easy nowadays). The Belgian site is slightly more expensive and gets a lot of bad press here (not from me), and sites here in Germany are *beeep* expensive.
