Postman making me a happy chappy today
Some reasonably high grade half crowns- 1888 Victoria and 1915 and 1916 KGV. The 1916 has a lovely dark toning to it and better eye appeal, but I think the 1915 is in better condition so decided to put that one in the folder- tough decision really.
An ok 1821 crown but with a few obverse scratches that are quite deep.
Larger than crown sized German 5 mark from the state of Wuerttemberg great condition for the age and size and a lovely feel to it.

Well the last of my auction wins arrived today, need to place some more bids on stuff that's ending tomorrow.
Got these two .500 silver shillings, a 1939 dated Scottish and a 1945 dated English versions, production of each type for these years are as follows,
1939 dated Scottish 10,263,800 minted
1945 dated English 15,143,400 minted
And these two, there its lots of lustre on both of these but its hard to show in the pics, and the tiny 10 Cent coin you can see all the tiny stress cracks from when it was made when its highly magnified.
These were bargain wins, with both for under £5
These are United States of America Philippines 1944 dated .750 silver coins, pre 1941 dated coins are harder to come by as nearly all were dumped into the sea to stop the Japanese getting hold of silver and other useful metals that they were seriously short of when they invaded the Philippines , so any found are usually in bad condition from being under the sea, with the islands being retaken by the USA in 1944, production was restarted to equip the country with currency again, the coins be produced by the Denver Mint, production for the two denominations are as follows,
1944 dated 10 Centavos 31,592,000 minted
1944 dated 20 Centavos 28,596,000 minted

Hope someone finds this interesting:
Gold:
Average house price in 1975 (when my dad bought his first house no other reason for this date was) £10,388.
The price of Gold was around £70 per oz. So that’s around 148.4 ozs required to buy a house. 148:1
Todays average house price is £247,000. The current price of gold is around £1,400 per oz. So that’s around 176 ozs required, 176:1
So house prices have exceeded Gold over the last 45 years (based on the paper/spot price of gold of course).
By end of this year, these figures could look a lot different if House prices fall and gold keeps rising, it could look more like 1975’s ratio???
Now Silver:
Average house price in 1975 at £10,388. The price of Silver was around £2 per oz. So that’s around 5,194 ozs required to buy a house. 5,194:1
Todays average house price at £247,000. The current price of silver is around £14 per oz. So that’s around 17,642ozs required. 17,642:1
Silvers not that great a PM as gold for keeping up with house prices it seems but maybe I picked a bad year?????? Few free to mess around with the years and let me know your result.
If anyone on the other side of the pond would like to do the USA version that would be good!!!

Received these wonderful 2020 1 oz The Silver Forum bars (#92, #94) from @BackyardBullion! Excellent addition to the annual series!
Also, the seventh of eight in the Chia Re-strike series! Here are five handsome 2020 China 1 oz Silver Twin Dragon Dollar Restrike (PU)...
Also, an added Wedge-Tailed Eagle to the Australia WTE collection with this lovely 2015 1 oz Silver Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle High Relief Proof! (The coin is in pristine condition, with the capsule being scuffed)
And a bit of US space history received! A
1988 Gold Space Shuttle-America in Space Young Astronaut Medal (0.24187 oz Gold).
Congress approved legislation authorizing this medal; the bill was signed by President Reagan on March 12, 1986, becoming Public Law 99-295. The authorizing law specified that 10 percent of the revenue from sales was to go to the Young Astronaut Council's annual budget. The medals' obverse design was chosen from more than 17,000 entries submitted by YAC student members from across the country. Designed by Brian Kachel, then 12, of Jersey City, N.J., it features a space shuttle in flight. The design was sculptured by Mint sculptor-engraver Chester Y. Martin. The obverse design incorporates the inscriptions LIBERTY and the year 1988. The reverse, designed by Robert Ahlcrona, features a right-facing eagle, with its wings spread, perched on top of the Young Astronauts Program logo surrounded by stars. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and YOUNG ASTRONAUTS are incorporated into the design.
Lastly, not a PM, but what should be a must for any Sovereign lover! A Royal Mint Gold Sovereign paperweight! This one is a 1984 dated Sovereign!
