We are in the mess we are in today because too many people are happy to give up their freedom for a what they perceive to be an easier life.  One day your easier life will be your nightmare. 
I use cash as much possible.  If I sell something on FB it will be cash and the cash gets used in local shops, petrol stations etc. I only use a card when there is no other option. 
Using cash, gives you more control on what you spend.   If the OP was local, I would have no problem selling them gold for cash.   
By the way, there are still places in Hatton Garden where you can purchase with cash and sell for cash.

There is a short story of the making of the Tiger bar on the Silver Angel sub forum if you are interested, as it was made into a 3d piece from a photograph.
The bars have been tested for purity and then hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay
They will be beautifully presented in one of our gift boxes and come with individual COAs

Nothing better to do whilst recovering from man- flu.  
On a recent sales post a debate arose surrounding the merits of the Deep Proof Like 2017 Five Sovereign Piece (992 mintage) and the 2017 Proof Sovereign (749 mintage).
Some (not great) photos I have taken of both of them to compare and contrast.
In hand, and to my eyes, there’s a marked difference.  What do you think?

The new improved version of the George & Dragon certainly looks superb on the ‘toned’ 1818 Crown. Here’s mine (I wish!)
Yesterday, walked around the site of the Tower Mint which stopped minting sovereigns in 1975. This is where Pistrucci would have worked, having made the 3 mile journey from his hotel in Leicester Sq. The magnificent Georgian frontage, a grade 2 listed building can be seen through the railings. Most of my sovereigns were minted there!
However, the whole compound we walked round was boarded up, and not open to the public. 
 
In 2018, the Chinese government bought the site for £255 Million with the intention of relocating their Embassy there. This was however opposed by the locals and Tower Hamlets Borough. The embassy would have been the largest in Europe. Protest groups such as Tibetans whose country was invaded and annexed in 1959, Hong Kong, and Muslim Uyghur and other Human rights groups played their part in affecting the result - thus stalemate! The development group Delaney were upset but the Chinese were furious not to get their way😀 However, the iconic position of this land probably means that it’s now worth mega millions more should the Chinese sell.
Anyway, politics aside it was a worthwhile visit. Somewhere inside was the Rothschild refinery, but remained hidden from view…

This is not the coin I expected but you can't fight destiny. I'm pleasantly surprised and the proud new owner of 95/210 minted of The King of Coins. So happy with this

The chap I bought it from hadn't even heard about this particular 'frosted' reverse proof variant and acquired 2. He was suddenly inundated with loads of enquiries after listing it on Bookface. I invited him to join us on TSF, he is a rather renowned and prolific gold coin dealer in the south west.
