My 2oz silver arrived - stunning looking coin, better than the Una IMHO (never really thought much of that design myself)... quality looks good so hopefully a 70 when it comes back from grading

Hello, I am new here. I first saw Una a couple of weeks ago and it got me interested. So I stayed up until 4 a.m. my time to try my luck with Three Graces 2 Oz Silver. Confirmation came at :09 and just this morning got a tracking notification. So i guess I was lucky enough with my very first purchase :). But it will take sooo long to get here compared to all the UK based people.
Definitely looking forward to the next coin and perhaps try my luck with the gold.

Regal is a gent. No issues at all. He’s a very generous member of the forum and on YouTube. I won a competition of his too once, 2017 Full Sov.
Not far from Manchester is Regal. I’d offer to intermediate if that helps you both?

Thanks, I’ll have to pass on the offer 😂

Disclosure: the coin isn’t mine, it’s my eldest son’s- I bought the Silver.
He realizes now, that he was extremely lucky enough to purchase the Gold following my recommendation.  He did so, rather than pulling the trigger on Bitcoin at a future dip.
His purchase wasn’t without incident though.

It was his first purchase from the Royal Mint- he placed the order by his debit card and received email confirmation.
However, on Tuesday The RM contacted him to say thank you for your order, but as it was a substantial first purchase they would require payment by Bank Transfer for ‘security reasons’ (bank transfer secure? 😂)- but any subsequent purchases could be made by Debit Card. He said what every other 24 year old might have to say, can you please take the £5k hold off my debit card and I’ll send it by Bacs?
The reply from the RM was kind of with some merit, pointing out that if they did so, he might lose his order, and asked him to send another £5k! 🙄
A little disappointing the response from the RM, in my opinion.
At this point he was concerned.
So, he came to me with the explanation- I could only muster £3k right away, so at this point, I would like to thank @SilverMike for very generously sending my Son £2k over to add to my £3k to pay (again!) for the coin!  😊 Thank you again Mike for your help. 😀
The moral to the story is this- IF you have never bought a ‘substantial’ item from the RM previously and you have cash in your current account to pay for it, then don’t!- Use your Credit Card in the first instance and if this scenario occurs, you have the cash to pay! Or alternatively, have £10k available to buy a £5k coin.

The other moral to the story is, always have nice relationships and friends in general 😃 and make good friendships with people here on the Forum, pull together and help each other- as you never know when you might need help  yourself. 😃
I really don’t think many other business could get away with this kind of behaviour- in fact, any other RM coin I would have advised my son  to tell them to take a running jump- but I guess this is a special coin, and the implication of not sending them double cash was worth the gamble of losing it!

Incidentally, my son has been told not to expect the hold to be taken from his account for the original £5k for ‘at least 5 working days’ beans on toast for him then 😂
@LawrenceChard, @BackyardBullion or anyone else, what do you think about the above, I specifically ask you two as you’re both in the PM business.

    Really you think?
I think not. The Mint personnel have been fully aware for some time that this was going to be mega. With the success of the Una and the constant chatter about the next in the series, how could it have been any different? Their agents were constantly being asked about it.
The only thing I am surprised about is that the Mint did not decide to milk this issue for every penny by vastly increasing the mintage and inflating the price. These aspects turned out to be moderate.
Also, I think many people expected them to offer at least part of the issue graded as 70.
Not withstanding the payment problems on the website, which may not be entirely their fault, and the hundreds of cancelled orders, which is their fault, I feel they deserve a lot of credit for how they managed this issue.

Exactly. Royal mint could have hiked there prices up. But didn’t. They only took a mere £55 extra. Which is completely understandable.

I think I'm cottoning on to something here, this person is no longer a member of TSF, is that correct?  I have recently had 2 Unas graded by them and had no issue whatsoever. Got a 70 and a 69, so very very happy!  Trust is important and because he was on here I trusted him. Then after i sent my coins his profile on here was deleted and I got very nervous. I needn't have though because his communication is excellent and at some point you have got to trust people.  How would you ever know for certain you are receiving the same coin you sent off?

I have graded many coins with that person and have never had any concerns and always been very happy with the service plus if I am lucky enough to receive my order I will be sending it to be graded with that person again. I have never had any cause to believe that he swops out coins to suit himself ,so you pays your money and makes your choice

I have always considered this a possibilty but everyone who graded with a certain previous TSF member, to my knowledge, was happy with the service provided.
When and where was this aspect talked about?
