So many unknowns... some would say what is coming will be unprecedented in history even handed down directly by our grandfathers' fathers...we may need plenty of food and water and potentially stocked medicines to even get as far as capitalising on gold or silver. Any major 'analyst' who doesn't mention those isn't worth their salt imvho (which is not saying much really as that would be worth an absolute fortune very early on, as would tobacco etc).
Equally, gold and silver could be totally taken out of the equation by confiscation etc and a central (likely world) government-imposed social credit cyptocurrency/credit. Brush up on those hunter/gatherer skills folks, at least we will have those hot chicky babes in furs to look forward to when we get back to our caves with a couple of mangy foxes over our shoulders!

I just got a roll of 1963 silver Franklin half dollars, uncirculated. Got them for a really good deal considering the high premiums these days.

Not too terribly exciting but I added another 3.6 ounces to the stack, uncirculated 1962 vintage, fractionalized of course.
I think I got a pretty good deal too, at about $35 per ounce.

It's my belief that the nature of power in this world is that it's all organized crime. The US and Chinese gov'mnts are just rival factions, fighting over the trafficking and control of drugs, people, resources, etc.

Do we really believe the Taliban (whomever these people called "the Taliban" really are) are going to "ban drugs"? If they have the large majority of opium production in the world since after 2001 (hmmm...), are they gonna say no to all that cash flow?
Who do we think these "Taliban" really are? They run the $600 billion per year US imperial war machine out of town? Just like US-created al Qaeda "brought the US to their knees" in 2001?  Really...?
People need to stop listening to the television.

So the claims go, but these are estimated resources, not known economically viable reserves.  Dont believe the hype, lithium is abundant across the world with large reserves in Chile and Australia.  Where are you going to extract your lithium, established mines in stable countries or go prospecting with tribal warlords to deal with.  Near 20 years with no mineral exploitation, why buy into the notion these events are to allow mineral exploitation, when it just got a lot harder not easier?

The Taliban wont get Afghan assets. The USA and other Western forces shouldnt be there in the first place.
Well, they traded the looting of their country for foreign occuption/puppet banking country. What else would happen to them? I am surprised you find this distressing when this is repeated throughout the world and in history.
The Taliban was created by the CIA during the Cold War. The US funded Islamic fundementalists to sustain geopolitical-petrodollar control in that region.
The US havent been decieved by the Taliban, its the opposite, the Taliban "think" they are getting a deal when its primary conditional (US continues to control Afghan assets).
Nothing to do with offense when the West and Talis are blowing people up.
Dont tell me to do. I can state on the matter all I want. No one in here is desrespecting anyone who served. Jesus christ.
We can imagine that people have been sold a lie. How are we the problem in highlighting this? Its the politicans, bankers and deep state that should be  the focus of your emotions not posters on here who can see through the lines. My godness.

This is one of the main reasons I collect them - i think you would have a good chance of getting through every time.
They would be scratched to buggery though. Plus its looking ever closer to a cashless society.
Your forgetting he would never be in an airport with the intention of flying as he 'aint getting on no damn plane fool'

I'm the opposite in that I much prefer gov't minted gold coins. They're already "money" or were already used as money and in recognized and understood denominations. And they're more durable and easily stackable.
My preferred gold are older Mexican and US coins in the 5 peso and 5 dollar variety, and they're all .900 gold. I think only one of my gold coins is 24k and it's a commemorative US Mint issue. I don't have any bars or tokens, only coins.

I'm totally the opposite, I want coins that have a purpose other than being a just lump of gold. I avoid 24ct gold. So I guess it works out well as we'd not be in competition for the same material! 😁

Krugs, only krugs - maybe a Britannia if I have to but it'd have to be really cheap.
Planning on 2 a month, maybe 3 if I can afford it.
Sounds like we all have the same 'Buy High, Sell Low' masterplan then 😄

Yesterday I wasted 2 hours making 2 round trips to pickup and drop back off my QBs from storage.  Up until a few weeks ago I thought my QB collection was complete until they decided to release a completer coin.  I picked one up as well as a compass cutter.  I have a box specifically for the QBs and it only allowed for 10 coins so I was going to cut a new hole for the completer.  I get home all ready to start work and then find out there isn't room in the middle.  If I was to put it in I would have to have it off centre and that would look odd.  Decided to cut 2 holes to make it symmetrical and will have 2 completers in there.  And now I've just noticed that I've put the 1/4 Yale and Falcon back into the wrong slots.  I'll have to remember to fix that when I drop off the other completer.
