Tough one isn’t it ? A classic greed or fear situation encapsulated in a coin.
Fear that by keeping a coin, it might lose an amount of current or future profit, if it spots.
Greed that by keeping a coin, it might massively increase your current profit, if it doesn’t spot.
A mitigating factor is that, I believe, this coin will never go below the original Royal Mint buying price

Me ? I went through The Coin Connection who are ruthless in their inspection of the coins they get directly from the Royal Mint. From there, I requested that the coin in its capsule be placed in a vacuum sealed bag before being sent to me, so I have done as much as can be humanly done to protect the coin.

For my £200 ticket, the upside is far greater than the downside.

I could have bought direct from the RM without paying VAT but was happy to pay the Coin Connection just under the RM VAT included price for the rigorous inspection and vacuum sealing (plus a 2% discount).

This coin may follow the 2014 Silver Britannia proof. That 2014 proof was going for similar prices at the same stage after its issue and has subsequently settled into a more stable price range and still well well above its issue price. It is quite likely the silver Una coin will do the same, with perfect 70s realising higher prices as other Unas fall by the wayside as regards spotting and wear and tear.
I am hanging onto my Una as I can prove it only has one owner and how it has been looked after. Unscrupulous people will take imperfect coins and dip them in silver cleaner to resell them as potentially perfect raw coins if the prices are worth it. For that reason, I do not want to be chasing seemingly raw coins down the line as I would have no way of knowing if they had been dipped or already slabbed with a poor grade and then removed and dipped or resold.

On top of that milk spots are crazy even if one obtains a 70. Once upon a time there is a frenzy with the 2014 Britannia silver proof. Nowadays many PF70s I came across have spotted, either from NGC or PCGS. Hope it fares better for this coin but I’m skeptical.
