It's a coin, not bar...
 

Is this a coin which looks like a bar, or a bar which thinks its a coin?

I just noticed the "r" and "n" in Government seem to run together to read Govemment, which is how some people pronounce it.
Could it be that the designer / engraver thought it had a double "m"?

Collected silver sets before going to gold. I rather like the numismatic silver in £ s d.  The 1902 proof florin is a favourite with the De Saulles 'Britannia'....

Note the attractive yellow colour due to the presence of silver in the "Crown Gold" alloy!

An 1887 half sovereign from Sydney, graded PCGS MS62. This is one of two to have obtained this grade.

1874 half sovereign found in Scotland with metal detector on farm. Small dent on bottom edge and scratch on back but still extremely happy.

My favorite half sovereign in my stack.

An 1857 Sydney Mint half sovereign in PCGS MS62. All Sydney Mint wreath half sovereigns are rare in Mint State. While the 1857 is one of the more common ones, there are just two pieces graded finer than this one, and two others in this grade.

A humble 1906 Sydney half sovereign in PCGS MS63. Mintage of just 308,000 pieces.

A high-grade old head half sov of 1893. This is one of five in the grade assessed by PCGS. with just two graded finer.

Silver 1734 8 reales  Shipwreck coin with coa. 25.9grams (41 mm diameter instead of 38mm) as there was first larger milled coins from 1732 to 1735 then was 38mm and little thicker to corrected the edge around coin.

Have to say lack of the frost on reverse makes it very hard to make a perfect picture...
Took me good 1h with different lights to capture it to my satisfaction 
This is the final result  

Today I bought 3 x 1965 France 20 Francs Hercules. Love the artistry, the balance, the symbolism. All in a once circulated coin.
