Very very sad!!! Did the NGC grader smoke and shave over those coins while farting on their home couch!
They should shave all their heads and send them to jail.

Just look at these photos.
“Burn marks” are appearing after NGC grading. Fine coins until they were sent away!
Any examples you would like to share? The below photos were from a Facebook group, not my coins.
I’m just raising this issue for other potential graders to be aware. NGC and/or Royal Mint are not taking responsibility for this!! Yet!
Who would buy a PF70 with this mark on it???

The increase in interest rates causes USD to strengthen, meaning gold will drop… in theory.
In reality given the increase in M2 money supply and the current (and upcoming) inflation might mean that gold is currently undervalued and due a reprice sharply higher.
I am talking about the USD and the Fed but the GBP / BoE are basically doing the same.
I’m betting on a reprice, and expect £2000 to be reached within the next 5 years, £2500 in 10 years. And I believe I’m being conservative. All this inflation is and will be hitting food, housing (barring a few local housing bubbles), oil and other commodities, gold can’t be the outlier.

MancunianStacker reacted to Monty51 in Royal Mint Confusion on James Bond History
Hi,The Royal Mint,IMO,should have carried out proper research in the first place so that the information was accurate to start with, therefore not in need of rectification. They undoubtedly have researchers paid to do this, not a pensioner like myself who bothers to take the time to correct them.I don't think a £27 silver bar would necessarily cripple their annual profit and loss account.I didn't ask for a gold one.

Buy a safe. Keep at home. Trust no one. Invest in a defensive dog and a clay pigeon shooting shotgun. That’s my strategy. Not that I own any pm personally, I used to, until I lost it on a mad, drunken boating accident. Now I own not a thing.

Gold is classed as Chemically inert which means that this won't happen to the gold, however sovereign's for example are 22/24 parts gold ,so the other 2/24 parts can react,
which is why you sometimes see small red patches on gold coins, which is a reaction with these 2 parts per 24.Redness is more than likely Copper.
The Silver reacts more readily when in contact with other elements, so the reaction with the Sulphur in the rubber band is more extreme.
2AG (Silver) + S (Sulphur) = Ag2S
The Ag2s(Silver Sulphide)is black which is more noticeable, however this can be reversed with something that is more hungry for the Sulphur,
which is Aluminium, so to reverse, with foil gives you a reaction,
3 Ag2S (Silver Sulphide)
+
2 Al (Aluminium)
=
6 Ag (Silver)
+
Al2s3 (Aluminium Sulphide)
The bicarb being the catalyst, plus salt and water to create the ion exchange, however if it is not rinsed off properly, can leave a residue that looks like milk spots.
Milk spots are different,(this is what I think happens, mostly likely just a total load of _____)
When blanks, have not been cleaned before minting, the cleanser dries on the surface, and once the coin has been minted, this is then bonded to the first few layers of the
Silver at a Molecular level through pressure and heat,
which means that it has now become part of the surface and the coin itself, so to remove this the only way is to damage these layers of the coin.
Both these problems could be easily avoided by NGC and the Mints by just taking a little more care when examining/producing coins.

I refuse to say ‘cost of living crisis’ instead preferring to use the more accurate term ‘currency debasement crisis’.

If I understand correctly, the rate rise is designed to curb inflation. The gold market, however, seems to think that inflation will be the winner in this contest. Perhaps other markets will reach a similar conclusion.
But don't trust my reasoning; I am not an economist and I am usually wrong on most things.

The spot price seems to be on a steep upwards curve now at £1538.43. Surely that can't only be because of the BOE 0.25% interest rate hike?? I thought that would have had the opposite effect 🤔 Clearly there are other factors involved.
Maybe we'll see another all time high if it keeps up..

Partly because gold is rising in USD price and partly because GBP is falling vs USD

Interest hikes are to stop or slow down spending, it won’t work this time because of the worldwide causes of high prices

True. And there's elections, Jubilees and whatnot to consider. But @EdwardTeachis correct, the BoE, and other central banks, are woefully behind the curve.
